My new system has 1TB 3.5" HDD and I'm looking at adding a 2TB 2.5" additional HDD.

Just purchased a WD drive: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B077RVMF3V?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

I'm probably being a bit dim, but it doesn't seem to fit physically on the HDD 2 bay. The holes don't come close to matching the screwholes in the HDD. I believed the HDD 2 bay was for a 2.5" drive.

I'm guessing I need to use a mounting adapter, but I'm unsure what to go for as all I find are 3.5 to 2.5 adapters and I'm wondering if these would line up on the HDD 2 hole positions? This is an example of what I'm thinking of getting: https://www.amazon.co.uk/High-Grade-Mounting-Included-Products%C2%AE/dp/B00RLYQYMQ/ref%3Drvi_sccl_1/258-5892114-8805316?pd_rd_w=1QKpx&content-id=amzn1.sym.febd3956-4d60-4288-b8f2-cb468eb6674d&pf_rd_p=febd3956-4d60-4288-b8f2-cb468eb6674d&pf_rd_r=G3PJ5236ZSAN7JCK7XTV&pd_rd_wg=rd1lG&pd_rd_r=3bccadef-e986-4616-b2c1-b0e947eb59ae&pd_rd_i=B00RLYQYMQ&th=1

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Bill.

The 2nd drive is sideways from the first drive, IIRC.

Thank you so much for that bit of sage advice. I now realise that it is blazingly obvious and that I was being extremely dim 🤣.

All installed, up and running perfectly 😊.

    Many thanks,

    Bill.
