KB272HL "cable not connected" on Aspire 5 Laptop

I purchased the KB272 to replace a smaller 24" Sceptre monitor I was using for my home office. No matter what I have tried, I cant get my laptop to recognise it. I tried connecting an Andriod tv box to the monitor, and it would work after rebooting the box, but would not wake from sleep. I have tried multiple HDMI cables (no VGA on the laptop), rebooting the laptop to see if it will find the monitor, using FN and F5 to try and find the monitor, and uninstalling all of my video drivers, but nothing has worked.

I have connected my laptop to an ASUS monitor, a Pioneer TV and a Hisense TV, all worked fine.

    Hello!!

Try a power reset to get it back to normal. Unplug everything from the monitor (power, video and USB) then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds or so. Wait a bit (good time for your favorite beverage) then plug everything back in and turn it on.

Power reset did not work. My laptop cant detect the monitor.

I should also say i manually installed to latest drivers from Acer, still no joy.

Is there a firmware update available for the monitor? I can't seem to find anything.

    Hello!!

A firmware update depends on your monitor build model and brand. Every hardware model has firmware made specifically for those machines only. They upload the firmware and drivers on their websites available for any user to download. But, not all monitors are suitable for firmware updates.

    check the given below link:

Thank you for trying to help Luna.

Well it looks like there is no firmware update for this monitor.

I find it amazing that a monitor in this day and age wont work with a windows PC. I tried 2 other PCs (one laptop one desktop) since my original post and it does not work with any of them. Out of 5 devices i have tried, it only worked with one andriod tv box, and only after a power cycle, it would not wake up after going to sleep. I have worked on hundreds of PCs, and while I have had driver issues before, i have never seen anything like this.

It looks like this monitor wil go in the trash, and I will never buy another Acer.
