Do I remove the thick plastic film over my new Acer 27 monitor XZ272U? Is it best to keep it on?

I just bought a Acer 27” Class WQHD Curved Gaming Monitor XZ272U. The front and edges (doubled) seems to be shrink-wrapped in a thick plastic film. I can particularly see it along the edges of the screen. Do I want to remove it? It is THICK, and not easily scratched off. I have tried to get my fingernails to start the removal and it is not easy.

Do I want to remove it? Would it be beneficial to leave it on ???

“take some captions”? Here are 3 pictures of the edges of my monitor where the plastic covering is most visible. I would have thought it a protective film for shipping the monitor, except it is very thick and durable, not like saran wrap. Heavy, like cryovac meat covering.
