I recently aquired an Acer Aspire E15 E5 576G laptop that had a ram issue. Would not boot after being dropped. Replaced Ram Stick and it worked again.

So now an issue it has is that it seems to take a long time from power button press to the screen coming on with the acer logo and proceeinding to boot windows.

I have it up to 16gb ram now. it boot's from an M.2 drive and windows is a fresh install. also it has the 8th gen i5

Is there any fix for this? or is this normal?

    Hi @switch512

To me this sounds like a hardware problem. Although the warranty is long expired I would still bring your laptop to an Acer Service point for a complete check. There will be a small service charge ($25) but if the Power Supply/MOBO needs to be replaced costs may be considerable. Not sure if the 8th gen i5 can run on Windows 11 if not consider buying a new Windows 11 laptop rather than spending more money on a 5 year old one😉

Understood. I agree. Thank you for commenting.

It works so I guess I will just deal with it. not really a major problem. also i am running 11 but not natively supported.

Was pretty messed up when it came into my small shop. Owner just wanted his hdd and bought a new laptop.
