I have the same problem with my new Acer model N20C5, my second Acer laptop because I accidently broke my other one. I purchased it on Amazon, and the second time I charged it, it got extremely hot. Almost couldn't touch it underneath it was so hot. It would't turn on. The fan was not running, so I actually blew through the vents to try to get a little cooling. After leaving it unplugged, it cooled down and started fine, although battery life seems to get woese and worse since then. Well. it happened again yesterday. I'm afraid it's going to toast itself.

    Hi @vincepamplona

Press and hold power button for 5-10 seconds. Remove charger. Gently insert and press paperclip into battery disconnect pinhole on bottom of laptop for about a minute. Plug charger back in but wait for battery charge LED to turn from solid orange to solid blue. Then try to turn it on again.
