Acer Spin 714 Speaker clicking issues

I have a problem with my Acer Spin 714. When I'm navigating around the speaker on my laptop will randomly make a clicking or popping noise. It mostly happens when navigating between tabs and almost all the time when I start watching a video. The problem happens both when the volume is turned all the way down and when the speakers are muted. I ended up getting a second laptop to replace the first and they both have the issue. Has anyone seen this problem before and know if there's a fix?

Other users and some chromebook reviewers have recently noted similar issues with the CP714-1WN model series if this is what you have. I'm not aware of any resolution yet. If you replaced it through your vendor, you might ask if you could exchange it for a different model. If this isn't possible, then you should arrange for Acer warranty repair service.

We had a similar problem reported several months ago that was eventually traced to a Google update to the OS. A later rev of the OS fixed it. I wonder if they've done it again?

I have the same issue. Speaker pop noise happened again when I clicked on the link to create an account here to add to your issue-reporting. And yes, I've had a Chrome OS update since buying the Chromebook and the issue persists still.

If it's still within the warranty period, click this link. Choose your country. Click support link at top of country page. Enter your machine's serial number id or SNID. Then arrange for warranty service.

I had the same problem for a long time, and it appears to have been fixed with Chrome OS 111.0.5563.71.

This is definitely NOT a hardware problem.

Jack, sadly I can report that my 1WN-53M9 manufactured 2022-06-30 (just received from Acer Recertified store) is still exhibiting this issue on latest stable build as well as latest beta build (115.0.5790.55) of ChromeOS. Is this issue still known within Acer? Unfortunately, we can't treat it as solved yet… Should I send this one back to Acer? Will it do any good? Thanks!

If it was my decision, I'd try to send it back pronto for a refund as not meeting my needs.
