Motherboard upgraded, should be able to get pcie 4.0 with the 4000 series, better fan curves in auto with low steady temps, highest xmp this ram kit supports at 5200mhz, and is 13th gen ready. Currently using the onboard IGPU with display port and hdmi support on the MB itself, while waiting on the next 4090.

Also windows will auto activate, you do not need to buy another windows license.

If anyone has some questions or wants to do this themselves feel free to PM me or reply to this thread.

yw bro and how did it fit in your case any problems ? and any other connectors needed etc ? and whats the difference between the one you got and the MPG Z790 EDGE ?

So it was a straight forward fit as the the case has mounting holes for an ATX motherboard, the board is only longer length wise, i didn't come across any problems it was a easy fit , every connector fits the acer ones without the need for adapters and the benefits vs the acer stock motherboard are large , i can't do proper benchmarks until the gpu arrives but i could do cpu and ram testing and the results have been amazing both on cinebench and userbenchmark.

MSI uses mystic light for its argb and everything connects up works nicely, the Aorus fans on my radiator are daisy chain so i've used one Argb connector to connect them two with the exhaust fan, and the front two fans share the other connector with a splitter , and the bottom Argb is linked to Asus PSU which needed its own argb so i could keep it in the off position. There's only 3 Argb connectors and 1 RGB connector, i've got no use for the RGB connector, if you did need more then the 3 Argb then you would have either have to use splitters or even a hub, and predator sense isn't obviously needed.

Check out the differences between Z690 and Z790 on YT , performance wise they are the same, the differences would be with PCIE lanes ( to the ssd ) which translates to nothing for gaming, higher overclockable memory speeds, but if the Z690 is able to go above the speed of your ram ( 6000mhz ) what's the point paying more for the Z790, Here's a little article with more detail to what i mean :

ok awesome ty as always, it all sounds good, ill check it out, and if predator sense isnt needed then how do we control the fans ? i have grown to love predator sense lol, would it still work if i wanted to use it ?

It would if you really wanted it to, but i uninstalled it, the MSi center is way better for fan control from trying out both, in my opinion.

That link above is not to the MSI Z790 mobo its to their MPG Z690 EDGE WIFI mobo, what exact mobo did you upgrade your PO7-640 to, which MSI Z790 model? I built an ASUS TUF Z790 WIFI mobo with a 13th Gen with the i9-13900K CPU for a friend just recently and that is an excellent mobo/cpu combo also, it was built with 64GB (2x 32GB, potential up to 128GB) with G. Skill Trident RAM (as its recommended by ASUS) at DDR5-6000MHz and its a rocket and with an ASUS TUF-RTX4090-O24G-GAMING/24GB GPU this combo system is unbelievable, these new systems are really getting right up there and to beyond what a normal user needs as they aint cheap imo and they are at a premium cost that most users will never ever afford or need.

Yea it was to Z690 version, couldn't justify the extra for a Z790 for my needs, and after researching this board had everything i needed, also that PC you've built sounds like an beast, i'll be looking at pairing up a 13900k with a 4090 too.

I was also looking for MB to change in stock predator PO5-640 and actually bought MSI MPG Z690 EDGE WIFI DDR5. But there is one thing that's not understandable to me at this point. Acer front panel(FPANEL) connector is a 14pin connector all in one package.

But MSI motherboards have other standard. Its a 10 pin connector.

Can anyone explain to me and overall, how can I connect that 14pin connector to this MSI MPG Motherboard? Appreciate your advise.

Looks like you can just plug it in. The missing four pins are extra power and a front panel LED. You will no longer have the lit Predator symbol on the front of the case, but that doesn't change the functionality at all. 1 & 2 on both are the plus side of an LED (Vcc), 3 & 4 are the negative side (LED), 5 & 7 are the reset switch contacts, 6 & 8 are the power switch contacts and 9 is reserved for the front panel presence detect, likely not used on the MSI.

It's true those are just extras , and it's a direct fit, however the predator symbol on the front of the case will still light up as it's connected directly to the power supply

Well as the predator went to the kid , i technically don't have one to join in the discussions , saying that i learnt alot from that machine, still say it's one of the best customizable pre-builts. So if anyone ever needs advice i'll always be on hand. Anyway bud good hearing from you, and hope you get a nice monitor sorted for yourself!
