I have an Acer Aspire A515-56-34VA with Windows 10 as operating system.

I am missing plans & settings…EVEN if I click Create a New Plan it still does not provide all W10 default plans.

This is very bizarre - any ideas?

Thanks.

    Hi @Tarj

Control Panel-Power Options and you should see this:

To get the deffault Power Plans read this W10 tutorial:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/43774-reset-restore-power-plans-default-settings-windows-10-a.html

To get your previous plan back, restore your system to an earlier point, type “Create a Restore Point” in the Search Box, and select “Restore”, your custom Power Plans will show again😉

Thank you kindly Puraw for your reply. However, unfortunately, did not work - also, I was unable to view the tutorial link you left as it was unable to locate the page.

What I did now is format and re-installed W10 along with all its updates right from scratch - AND, believe it or not, the problem (if it in fact is a problem vs. how my new ACER Aspire A515-56-34VA maybe is designed) still existed.

I have moved this (apparently new technology) power performance slider to the far-right high-power setting [when I right-click the battery icon at bottom right of my screen/taskbar in the notification area]. I am thinking this is the new way of setting a high-performance power plan - BUT how then can I change settings such as “USB Selective Suspend” and many other power plan settings I used to have when I had my Dell Inspiron laptop?

After this experience I think I may go back to Dell - not sure why ACER has made this change?

If you have any other thoughts I certainly would welcome them - Thanks!

    Hi @Tarj

Sometimes these link dissapear in this forum:

Open Windows Terminal, and select either Windows PowerShell or Command Prompt.

Copy and paste the command below into Windows Terminal, and press Enter:

    powercfg -restoredefaultschemes

When finished, you can close Windows Terminal if you like.

If you reply use the Quoate icon left bottom or type @Puraw at the top, otherwise I won't get it.😉

Thanks greatly Puraw for this new info.

Sorry for late reply as I've been rather busy with a work-project.

I will try command you have provided and I Thank You Much once again - Cheers! ☺️
