v1.00 is the earliest first factory version. Only updates v1.01 & 1.02 are available at this link.

also if im on v1.02 is it possible to go back to the previous one because the exe file i downloaded for v1.01 it said “version of rom file is not newer than the bios”

Yes but going back is riskier than going forward with BIOS firmware. If the current version seems to be running OK, you should not try to go back or go forward. Firmware updates are meant to fix serious problems, not to be routinely installed like device drivers.

FPS will NOT be improved with any BIOS updates, it may have something to do with the GPU VBIOS but your SFX14-42G does NOT have any Acer VBIOS updates so don’t or ever try to upgrade the GPU VBIOS with any other none Acer VBIOS firmware for your GPU, as you will brick your GPU or make the GPU perform 100% worse.

FPS problems are due to your GPU either overheating, so check the paste of the GPU/CPU and pads and fans and vents of your laptop or update the Nvidia graphics driver that could be an issue also, you need the latest driver and you need to install the latest driver with the Advanced Option where the new driver uninstalls all previous Nvidia drivers off your laptop, also install the GeForce software as that has the Nvidia ultimate settings for hundreds of games that it automatically sets the settings for your Nvidia GPU, also and in the Nvidia Control Panel >Program Settings set all your games and high end software to the High-performance NVIDIA processor, as all these settings will increase and make your laptop work at its peak for gaming and all high end software that you use.

hmm i think its defenitly not due to the gpu overheating since its only been a month or so since i got the laptop and been using a laptop cooler for it aswell

Then setup the NVidia gpu with all its software that NVidia provides for gaming, as it works.

BIOS firmware will NOT cause this. What is actual temperature of the CPU and GPU? The cooler means nothing. You must actually see what the temperature is, not guess at it.
