Hello, i just bought Acer Nitro 5(i7) the other day and i have a few questions.

1) When i was playing hogwartz legacy, i open Nitrosense and saw the CPU and GPU temperature goes over 80celcius is that normal for any gaming laptops?
2) Even if that's a normal temperature(80c CPU and GPU), would it chip the life of my laptop faster compared if i just use it to play light games?
3) If so, how long is the recommended usage duration when it comes to playing heavy games?
4) Which part of this laptop is upgradeable aside from RAM?
5) Does adding more rams(This laptop currently have only 16GB RAM) can result in lower temperature for CPU and GPU when i play heavy games like Hogwarts Legacy?

[Edited the thread to add model name]

The equipment supports 1TB ssd, this will give you more capacity but not better performance:

And it seems to support two SSD drives. something that would have to be confirmed once the equipment was opened:

You can also expand the memory up to 32GB:

Hi @Carsise tell us the exact model of the laptop, thanks.

Waiting for a better answer since I don't have that equipment, I'll tell you:

1.This temperature is normal for the portable model that can work at higher temperatures.

2.high temperatures always and does not depend on any brand or model, they shorten the useful life since the components wear out from use somewhat faster, but this should not worry you if the temperatures are stable, use the laptop to full satisfaction, it is like not wanting to run a car over 50 miles to preserve it.

3.If the games require a lot of energy, try not to stay at 80 degrees for a long time and make sure that if they are exceeded, they are for a short time, in any case, you can help the laptop by buying a cooling base, make sure that the air vents They do not have nearby obstacles and that the room environment does not have too high temperatures.

4.To be sure, tell us the model so we can consult the service manual.

5.The increase in RAM will not lower the overall temperature of the computer, although in theory it can take some work off the processor, the temperature changes with more RAM will not be noticeable.

    Greetings

Changable things will be the SSD, ram and Wifi :) nothing else can be changed (techinically the screen can but eh)

Id say 80 is OK for gaming, things like the fans will wear out after years of use, and the thermal paste will start to go after a year or two, but you wont notice silicone degregation to any noticable effect during even heavy use of the GPU. you could hit it 12 hours a day every day as long as thermals are kept under control (sub 100) it will be fine

thermal paste is “goop” that moves heat away from the bits of the laptop. Its a thick liquid to help fill the gap between the compentant and heat sink. It lasts for a good few years but eventually needs to be replaced to keep working effectivly. Dont have to worry about that though yet!

you can lower the graphics settings in game, it will lower your temps. Try different settings and see which are best for you.
