How do I fix this? I've tried changing the boot order, and even loading the default settings.

You need to disable the “secure Boot”as then you will get the boot order priorities and you can change them like below, as with secure boot you will only have the “Windows BoootManager”and you can't.

Secure boot is greyed out in BIOS

    • Set admin password
    • Disable Fast Boot
    • Go back into BIOS and Load BIOS Factory Defaults
    • Under BIOS Security settings, set the security level to default.
    • Update BIOS
    • See if the Secure Boot is available.

    Secure boot disabled bios

    Hi @piolooj

If UEFI-BIOS (no idea what PC or OS you have) do not detect the boot sector on your HDD/SSD and you already tried to toggle the different SATA modes (IDE, AHCI, or RAID) without any luck you probably have a corrupted disk (Boot sector). If you have a removable HDD (either SATA SSD or HDD-spinner) you can take out the drive, mount it in a USB external case or connect it to a USB SSD cable and plug it in another PC USB slot. Examine the drive in Disk Manager to see if Windows? detects the drive without errors. If Disk Manager cannot read that drive (not initialized, not ready) you probably have a bad HDD, if OK copy your data to a storage disk of the 2nd PC and reformat the external drive (for security reasons). Put the empty drive back in your Laptop/PC and bring it to Acer Service to reinstall OEM drivers/OS and BIOS, they usually charge a small service fee ($25).
