Acer Nitro 5 (2022) - curved screen and uneven backlight distribution.

Hey there.

I bought a Nitro 5 notebook last monday and it turns out that screen is weirdly curved. I have also noticed a really annoying backlight distribution, which is the worst I've ever seen in all of my previous notebooks. Before I reach out to customer support I wanted to ask if that's something common with Nitro 5's and considered standard or is it only in my case?

Cheers,

Maciek

The backlight bleed looks a bit much if it's a full screen black.jpg image from an app like Paint. Acer has offered curved screen laptops in17.3" or even larger sizes. What is the full model number? For example, AN517-55?

Maybe you just got a lemon. If so, you should return it as defective to the vendor for an exchange or refund as soon as possible. Do it before the vendors return merchandise authorization (RMA) period expires. Usually only a few weeks. Warranty service will likely take longer and involve shipping.

Probably not a curved screen. What other problems are you having with the screen?

not much else everything seems fine, but the design of the bezel makes it look uneasy on the eyes and looks curved. Ive seen people bring it up in reviews as flex and checked models similar at the shops they all have it on nitros. I just wanna know if its a design issue?

A possibility. But we're not Acer employees or technical service reps on these forums. Just other Acer users such as yourself. So we can't guarantee 100% one way or the other if it's a physical assembly defect.

If you're worried it might lead to other more serious problems, I suggest returning to the vendor as physically defective for a refund/exchange if the vendor's return merchandise authorization (RMA) period hasn't expired —- usually only a few weeks. Or, if still under warrant, go to this link, choose your country, click on the support link near top of country page and enter your serial number id(SNID) . Then use the chatline or other contact method provided to arrange for an evaluation and possible repair.
