Can predator 15 with 60hz refresh rate run a monitor with 240hz?

i have predator 15 g9- 593-71GL variant (2016 model with gtx 1060). planning to get a 240hz monitor. would it be worth it and can I use 240 hz in a 60hz laptop?

    @YANOH yes, you can use a 240Hz monitor for this laptop. But you will have to check if the game that you want to play can reach about or more than 240FPS.

    Wait buddy, you didn't specify the resolution of monitor? Is it FHD(1080p) at 240Hz? or QHD(1440p) at 240hz?

    Your laptop is 2016 model with GTX 1060, so it has HDMI 2.0 and it supports max bandwidth of 18Gbps.

    1080p at 240Hz uses 14Gbps. So ya, it will work with your laptop.

    1440p at 240Hz uses 25Gbps. If you buy a 1440p 240Hz monitor, you won't be able to run it at 240Hz, but only 144Hz. Here in this case you need HDMI 2.1 to run 1440p at 240Hz.
