Acer A517-52G installation problems while configuration/installation I got a number of error message

I have a brand new Acer A517-52G with W11 Pro and right from the beginning at the initial configuration/installation I got a number of error messages: VCRUNTIME144.DLL, Microsoft Teams error messages and also a number of Intelligo Extensions errors. I managed to get rid of the first two error messages bij installing VC_redist.X86 and VC_redist.X64, and re-installing MS Teams from the MS website. Also, Windows update installed a number of drivers, but it refuses to install the last two instances of ‘intelliGo - Extension - 100.1.4.624’ (error 0x80070103). Each line has a 'Retry' button but when I click on that it says ‘Downloading’ and ‘Installing’ but then it aborts the installation.

I googled for solutions but found nothing. I ran Windows update troubleshooter and sfc/scannow but that didn't solve the problem

How can I solve this, and why did I get these error messages on a ‘virgin’ installation in the first place?

Thanks in advance,

cabwav

Clear the Windows Update cache, it will force Windows Update to download new files.

1-Right click on the Windows prompt and select "Terminal (Admin)

    2-Write these commands:

net stop wuauserv and press [Enter]

net stop cryptSvc and press [Enter]

network stop bits and press [Enter]

ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old and press [Enter]

ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old and press [Enter]

net start wuauserv and press [Enter]

net start cryptSvc and press [Enter]

network start bits and press [Enter]

    netsh winsock reset

3-Reboot and check again for updates and possible error messages.

  • Hi @cabwav VCRUNTIME144.DLL errors are related to incompatible applications, which ones did you install right after you bought the computer?

Have you used any registry cleaner type cleaning application? These types of applications are not recommended.

Thank you for your reply. I got these messages right at the beginning, just after the initial configuration, the first time the desktop window showed, so before I installed additional programs, so I was quite surprised, this never happened to me before. I did install MS VS Studio, MS office Prof, Steam and Noton VS at some point later that day, but definitely no regcleaners.

  • I assume it is Windows 11, is that correct?

Is it up to date from Windows Update?

Uninstall those Apps that come from the factory and that are of no use to you.

Yes, W11 Pro (see first line of my msg above) and yes, I installed all the updates after the initial system installation. As suggested, I uninstalled all Acer utilities, including driver updater and configuration manager, and restarted Windows, and still Windows update reports the two instances of the same driver (intelliGo - Extension) and I can't get rid of them.
