Hello, my laptop has been charging fine these past two months. Yesterday I performed a Battery drain and ever since then my battery is stuc at 62% and the charging port is flashing yellow. Meaning it’s not charging. What should I do?

  • Hi @TeknoClan waiting for more answers that can help in your query, do you mean a calibrated drain? This should not cause this behavior in the battery, but quite the opposite, the battery should recover a little of its charging capacity.

What was the procedure you performed?

What was the reason for which you performed the drainage?

I charged the laptop to 100% and then used to until it shut down then I charged it again. I did it because there were negative values in the battery report I generated.

  • The procedure is correct.

Try to carry out a power reset in the event that your equipment has that possibility, I leave you a video:

I don't think my laptop has a reset hole to reset the battery. What do I do? I did reset the BIOS to default yesterday before the battery problems. Could that be a reason? Please help me, I only got this laptop 3 months ago.

  • A load of the factory values in BIOS does not affect the charge of the battery.

If the laptop is new and only three months old, the best option is to contact Acer warranty services or the seller:

Isn't there anything else that can be done?

  • You can try uninstalling the battery drivers listed in device manager and restarting your computer:

Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-55. Bios is 1,05.

  • Yellow blinking indicates low battery, this may be due to a charging problem caused by the laptop's charging circuit or the battery itself.

Have you removed the drivers that it tells you and check if the battery charges well?

I haven't had a chance to uninstall the Battery drivers yet. I'll do it soon.

Ok I did as you said but now the computer won't power on without being plugged in. The voltage is 0V and the wear level is 100%.

The problem must be in the battery itself, as I told you, it should be checked by a technical support service.

The battery does not charge and quickly lost the accumulated energy.

If wear level is 100% and hwinfo64 shows the same value, I suggest to renew the battery.
