edited February 2023 in Predator Laptops

I have a Predator Triton 300 SE (PT314-51s-76JL), PredatorSense sticks on the loading icon when started, Turbo button doesn't seem to do anything. The 80% battery charge limit functionality is set but I cannot turn it off and there seems to be no related functionality in the battery options. I am also having intermittent graphic errors where everything on screen is not displayed properly and is kind-of lower resolution but in a way that isn't like changing the display options but is clearly a fault of some sort. I just carried out a PC reset (keeping files) as per the suggestions here: https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/651933/triton-500-predator-sense-gui-doesnt-display-and-turbo-button-doesnt-work

However this doesn't seem to have changed anything. Can anyone help please?

  • Hi,

May I ask where did you enable 80% battery charge limit? If you have set it in Acer Care centre, try disable it, then uninstall Acer Care centre App, unless you need it for a certain purpose, then you can uninstall current PredatorSense and reinstall it after downloading from Acer support site, I would suggest you use Revo Uninstaller to uninstall Apps, after uninstalling use scanning feature to delete all leftover files relating to the uninstalled App(normally they are shown in bold letters).

Thanks very much brummyfan2, that seemed to do the trick. I can't comment on the intermittent graphic issue but will post here again if still experiencing it.

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to have worked after all. Having re-installed both and both functioning fine I then restarted my laptop in the normal course of use and both softwares now do not work. I repeated the re-installation and the same thing happened again. When I click the care centre icon a message pops up saying: 'Acer care centre is still initializing. Please try it again later.' But later the same thing happens. For predator it's the same, just stuck at the loading icon.

The graphic issue I experienced also came back worse than before rendering the screen just full of stripes and I had to force a restart.

Any further suggestions would be a great help.

  • I have completely uninstalled Acer Care centre and don't use it anymore, I also don't limit the charge to 80% because it doesn't give any advantages regarding preserving battery life, in my opinion, the battery will deteriorate over a period of time due to the usage of chemicals in them, as for the screen problem, I think you must have tried reinstalling the display adapter driver, apart from that I don't know any other solution, but please wait for other suggestions from community members.

Make sure you have Acer Quick Access installed also.

There's been a number of times that certain functionalities did not work when QA wasn't present (Especially with PSense)

Thanks Red-Sand. Acer Quick Access isn't listed in the product support applications for my model so not sure if I should install it or where to find it if I wanted to. . .

Latest is that, upon uninstalling Acer Care Centre and subsequently removing and re-installing PredatorSense things seem to be fine now. Predator works after restarting. I've not experianced the graphic issue again so far but this may be conicidence. Thanks again for your help.

    try the following:

    1. insert a usb flash drive to your laptop or desktop computer. (be sure to backup the contents of your usb flash drive)
    2. download rufus , then run it.
    3. left click the drop down arrow next to the word "SELECT" and left click "DOWNLOAD" to download the original Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft. Watch the full tutorial
    4. after that, press START. wait for it to finish.
    5. close rufus, open your usb flash drive then run the setup executable.
    6. be sure to backup all the files in Drive C: or any drive partition where the operating system resides before doing step 5.
    7. be sure you have a good internet connection for the contents of the flash drive to be updated to the latest.
    8. as the setup runs, select delete all files, like you are installing a fresh operating system.
    9. wait and trust the process to complete.
    10. after that, download the latest official drivers from Acer.
    11. download the serial number detection utility/tool to obtain the device serial number or SNID
    12. download all the drivers, extract each, then install.
    13. hopefully, your problem will be solved.
    14. driver problems happens when you restore your operating system using the factory recovery image.
    15. after all the drivers installed and working properly. make an image of the whole drive using macrium reflect, aomei, easeus, minitool and many others. Watch the tutorial
    16. the purpose of making your own backup image of the whole drive is to shorten the restoration process in case of problems or malware attacks.
