Hello guys,
I have an Acer Predator Orion 3000 with RTX 3070, 32GB RAM and i7 procesor. I have bought it like 4 months ago and yesterday I have noticed that playing Fortnite my GPU temperatures was 90 degrees and I’m a Little bit worried, is this normal? What should I do?

All time you are getting 90 degrees C while gaming or it was just for a few settings?
-You can try to set custom fan speed or max fan speed from predator sense to lower temperature

Unfortunately 90 C is normal during playing games or doing anything CPU-intensive. The reason for this is the cheap and tiny cooler Acer decided to use just to save few dollars.

If the temp bothers you, or the CPU starts to throttle, please search the forum as there are many posts how to remedy the situation.

I didn’t Know that it is normal, the CPU temperature is not that high, but the GPU is going until 90 degrees

In Fortnite, on Epic settings, yes. Even if I will set the fan speed for “Gaming” the CPU Temp is 40-50 but the GPU reachs immediatly 90 degrees

OP, sorry for misreading your post.

For GPU 90 C is a lot when gaming. For mining 90 C is almost acceptable, although what do I know? I have never mined... but I read tons of threads about it.

It would be interesting to know what temp this is. I suppose it is core/diode. But there are other temps too (individual memory chips, memory junction and "hot spot") and they might be even higher than what PredatorSense is measuring.

If you are interested to know more than one temp try HWiNFO64. It provides tons of sensor information and is free.

If you know what you are doing, repasting the GPU core isn't difficult. At least while doing so you could check that all the thermal pads are in right places. But if you have not even repasted a CPU, maybe do as recommended above.

You might also consider undervolting your GPU for lower temps and less power usage. Youtube has many good video tutorials how to do this.

Yes, but anyway, the PC still have 20 months guarantee left so I don’t Know what to Say. I have played again for like 1 hour and the Temperature was 80 degrees, but It’s still too high. I will try to follow some tutorials for undervolting or I will send it in the service.

I used MSI Afterburner and not only did I undervolt the card, I overclocked the memory (+800MHz) at the same time. Each card is unique, though. Oh, and I did repaste and play with the pads as well.

I know this is quite old thread...Any idea how thick the stock cooling pads are on RAM?

    Howdy!

I'm not 100% sure anymore, but I think I used Arctic's 1.5mm thermal pads. At least I managed to find leftovers and the color seems to match with those on the picture. I don't remember how well the pads fit and worked, thou. Sorry!

Another option, and I have used this on my EVGA 3080 Ti, is use thermal putty. Unfortunately putty is pretty difficult to find, depending where you live.
