Just purchased a Deep Cool AK400 tower CPU cooler and my CPU temp have dropped dramatically! Before in CPU-heavy game like Warzone 2 my CPU with the stock cooler used to reach 100C! (basically thermal throttling), but after the upgrade max. temp in game was 63C! And at 28C ambient room temp!

I honestly did not expect such a massive gain by this upgrade.

And I was following up other threads about the Noctua coolers and how to use a 10mm screw to install it. I could install the Deep Cool AK400 with a little bit of mix and match: The provided Intel LGA1700 spacers wouldn't fit the stock backplate (I did not want to remove the motherboard due to not wanting to redo all the cables!), so I used the AMD ones which were bigger. And it worked!

Btw, I got the white one because it was on sale and I don't mind the contrast either! I also use the stock Predator fan because it is RGB.

The stock cooler is very insuficient for the 12th gen.

    I reached 100º with only 33% usage.

The tower cooler is a must.

what did you run your system on with the stock cooler gaming mode or auto? the highest i ever hit was 63 with the stock cooler in gaming mode and now i get 40-44 in gaming mode with the noctua nh-u12a but it was 120 dollars lol.

default mode ¿auto? my i7-12400 when gaming in WOT always below 30 percent usage and temp 80-90 degrees

But at the end of the match 33 percent and reaches 100 degrees

with new cooler (cheap cooler 25€) 60-70 normal usage and sometimes peaks 90 in stress test

Im happy with this. I loaded predator sense but never did a modification, so i guess is already in "auto"

It was the stock cooler which came with the PC itself. The frequency though is not in-game. I existed the game and took the pictures of the max. recorded temp. I will try to see it the speed also is higher from before or not (maybe I have the record of the speed from the stock cooler, I am not sure).

I always used the gaming mode. But still the CPU reached high 90s in temp. I should also mention that my ambient room temp is high (around 26 to 28 C). In lower room temp of around 21C, the CPU would hit 92C easily. But this new tower cooler is way better!

yeah, no matter what we add for fans coolers etc always run in gaming mode to get the best performance and cooling if it's too loud as i hear people complain then get quieter fans those high temps are going to ruin your CPU. i run mine in gaming mode 24/7 unless i leave it on OverNite then i put it in auto. and yeah, I'm in my basement with central heat-air so it's always like 66 down here. I'm sure that helps a lot.
