very interesting stuff i found here for those who are interested and didn't know and blamed acer for everything and not allowing us to overclock our CPU's now i know why it's the chipset they chose from Intel that's all. only the Z690 allows overclocking the CPU i wasn't aware of that either but this article explains everything about the H670 MB in our 5000-predator series and from other pc manufactures it's a good read enjoy and tc as always. and it's not a bad MB i think it only lacks VRM heatsinks and from what I'm reading a lot of budget MBs don't have them but I'm still doing research because i was thinking of getting a new MB down the road that led me to this article. but it will be a Z690 when i do that allows overclocking etc.

Just to add my experience and components list to a new Z790 chipset system that I've built, as from that list of the H670 chipsets its no wonder that the Asus Prime and TUF mobos are at the top, as the Prime range has always been Asus's best bang for your bucks mobo that you can get. I've just finished building an Intel 13th Gen with a NVidia 4000 series gpu for a friend with the following components and a white theme that he wants and this gaming desktop components are as follows: I'm just testing it out with Win-11 Home and so far it really works great and is a very well-balanced system.

I used an Asus Prime Z790-A WiFi-CSM LGA with the Intel Core i5 13600K 14 Core cpu, as this lower i5 cpu is allot better for the Prime mobo than the Core i9 13900KF 24 Core cpu as the Prime mobos 16+1 60A teamed Power Stage has its limitations on such a thirsty processor, also the Prime Z790 mobo is actually a real stormer with the Core i5-13600K installed. It's not bad on the Core i9 of course, none of the Z790s are with the i9 cpu's but the Prime really shines and gives you some tweaking freedom with the Core i5 that the i9 just doesn’t do or the mobo can handle with the i9 satisfactorily, so be aware of that with the Prime range.

I’ve also paired this mobo with 2x 32GB G.SKILL DDR5-6000Mhz / 2x 32GB / 30-40-40-96 - F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5RS type ram and a 1TB PCIe 4x 4 WD SN850 Black boot drive and a 4TB Samsung EVO 870 SSD slave and the Phanteks AMP 1000W White PSU and the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX® 4090 OC Edition Gaming Graphics Card and keeping his white theme I’ve enclosed all these gaming system into a Corsair iCUE 4000X RGB white case and added the ASUS ROG Strix LC 360 RGB White Edition AIO Liquid CPU Cooler with Aura Sync RGB and of course matched the white theme with the Corsair K70 RGB MK.2 SE keyboard and the Corsair M65 mouse and the Samsung 34" CJ791 Ultra-wide Curved Thunderbolt™ 3 WQHD Monitor white. This desktop is aesthetically a great looking system and a good compromise for a high-end desktop for any BYO out there that wants to build a desktop from the bottom up with all components that are compatible to each other.

Reason i went for a Predator series was to see how far i can push this prebuilt, i'm looking into getting a 4090 next, and trying to hold off from a motherboard upgrade until the PO7-650 is available and see if i can find a reseller for that board.

Yes, it is and its very compatible with the cpu, ram and gpu and all that I expected this system to be like and to suit what my friend wanted and the flexibility that it has, the RTX-4090 is an amazing gpu and can handle everything you throw at it with ease, its a much better gpu than the RTX 3090 series and NVidia has done really well with this new gpu.

well, you guys know way more than i do so what would you recommend for me for a new MB for my current 5000 series? i don't really need to upgrade anything inside i did the ram and cooler so I'm set i just figure if i get a new MB i can over clock the CPU and memory and try it out. and from reading those articles i need at least the Z690. not sure if ide need the Z790 for what's in mine currently.

Personally i got close to getting a Asus rog z690-g , as it's 13th gen compatible (has a 8+4 pin for the CPU just like the stock motherboard) and is a very decent board, the option will always be there if something untoward was to happen and ACER won't honour the warranty due to the mods.

In standard form the PO7-640 only had a 8 pin for the CPU power connected, and 4 Pin was unconnected, with the new PSU i was able to connect it, whether the system really needs it, is to be seen as i believe Acer do have power limits imposed on the CPU, however by that same token they have put the connector on the board.

The E version has extra 2.0 headers and 400mhz extra headroom on the RAM, my ram only goes up to 5200mhz so i would go for the G version, and as for the 2.0 header , only really need one for the AIO cooler, and if more are needed then there's hubs and stuff, but if the extras are worth the 80 dollars for you then it may be worth going for.

well, I'm not sure now the E series is 6 inches longer ide have to see if it will fit in my case first. if not, the G series will work like Ya said not that much of a difference. ok i just checked the G series and E series only have one DP i run dual DP on my current setup so that won't work Haha I'll keep looking. **** after thinking about, it I'm a dumbass and forgot the monitors are connected to the GFX card Geesh Haha don't mind me lol. so yeah, it's the G series that's mATX.

Yea those onboard ports are if it's a CPU with a iGPU built in, if the chip supports it and something happens to the GPU it's a good backup , otherwise they're just there to be ignored really.
