Hello,

I have a AN515-53-55g9. It was originally a win10 machine, it is currently on win11, I have upgraded to 32gb ram, and at any given time it will only use up to 50% of ram.

It does recognize the full amount of ram in the several places I have checked, as well as the about screen. It passed the memory tests with no issues.

Any ideas?

The reason is that you are not playing and/or using memory intensive programs and games that need to utilize the full 32GB dual channel memory, you can't force the laptop to use all the 32GB ram 😁use a video editing programs like DaVinci Resolve recommend 32GB RAM if you want to use fusion with it as that will test your 32GB memory, also try to edit large images with Adobe Photoshop that will test your 32GB memory, so do that as I'm sure that your 32GB will be tested.

The more programs you try to open on your computer it will utilize more memory.

32 gb ram is something very big. It is the best configuration for your computer. The Golden rule is that if you install and use more memory on your computer it will work much faster.

Kindly check the details from the link given below for your computer model.

click on the drop down menu for operating system. It only shows Windows 10 It doesnt show Windows 11 along with Windows 10 '

Drivers are only available for Windows 10 right now.

I am sorry to inform you that your computer is compatible only for Windows 10 right now.

If you use more programs on your computer then it will occupy more memory.

For example if you to try open multiple word doc you can see that it is utilizing more memory now. You can always check it by opening task manager

Try Ctrl + shift + esc key on keyboard to open task manager.

The more programs you try to open on your computer it will utilize more memory.

    Thanks for your answers.

It definitely seemed like it sped up.

Primarily I use cad programs, and it does get bogged down sometimes using Fusion360. There will be points when it will not respond for several minutes. At that time performance in the Task Manager window never goes above 50%. Many times it's 40%. I never really see anything peak out, that would indicate an issue, just noted that as a possible problem.

I have had a couple of other issues with cad programs freaking out and just shutting down, but I attributed that to the software. Maybe Fusion360 is the same way.

In the mean time, I'll monitor it on other software.

    Thanks again.
