My Laptop model is Predator PH315-52 (2019 model). It has a mini display port and an HDMI 2.0 port. So can it hook up with a 144 Hz monitor? but my laptop screen is just 60 Hz. This confuses me a lot. My lap has a potential of 144 Hz because I can see when I play games it goes up to 170 fps. Is the 144 Hz monitor will support it?. Plz, help if u know about this thing!

    Some simple explanation,
Laptop screen use only cpu display.
External monitor will use gpu display.
If you're already connect monitor to a laptop, set the resolution on nvidia control panel.

You can buy a 144 Hz external monitor and tell Windows and your video card to send whatever signal you want to it. You monitor usually senses it and matches it to be able to display it or if it's just an HDMI TV. Under display just tell it to detect what you're hooked up to and it will decide what signal to send, plus you can change it. My HDMI goes to my 75" Sony Bravia and at 4K it's a 30 Hz signal but very nice.

@steelman007 for the 240Hz monitor, it should support it through the Mini DisplayPort.
