I’ve had this laptop for a while and never got such a problem. I just got back from a 1 week trip, tried to turn on my pc and nothing happened. It worked just fine before I left. When I connect the charging cable, it turns on the “charging” light, but I have no response from pressing the power on button. I’ve tried pressing the power on button for a minute, and also tried the battery reset thing with the pin, please help.

Do not try to turn the laptop on until the orange charging light turns steady blue. This may take up to 24 hours.

sorry, I forgot to mention the charging light was already blue. I said that to make it clear that the charging cable was working and it wasn’t a problem with it. It still doesn’t turn on even with the blue light.

Unplug the charger again. Then re-do the pinhole trick again with a toothpick or paperclip for at least a minute while pressing and holding the power button at the same time. Then plug the charger back in. Wait for the blue charge LED to appear. Then try it again.

Tried this twice and it didn’t work. My theory is that somehow the keyboard broke and that’s why the power on button doesn’t work. My sister also has an Acer Nitro 5 and it also happened to her, and the keyboard was the issue.

There could be several reasons why your laptop is not turning on. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check the charging cable: Make sure the charging cable is properly connected to both the laptop and the power source. Try using a different cable or plugging it into a different outlet to rule out any issues with the cable or outlet.
    2. Check the battery: If the charging light is on when you connect the cable, the battery may be the issue. Try removing the battery and then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to discharge any residual power. Then, re-insert the battery and try turning on the laptop again.
    3. Check the power source: Make sure the power source you are using is working properly. Try plugging in the laptop to a different outlet or using a different power adapter to rule out any issues with the power source.
    4. Try a hard reset: If the above steps do not work, try performing a hard reset on your laptop by unplugging it from the power source, remove the battery and then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Then, re-insert the battery and plug it back in and try turning it on again.
    5. Check for hardware issues: If none of the above steps work, the issue may be with the hardware. It is recommended to take your laptop to an authorized service center to have it checked and repaired.

It is important to note that it could be a problem with the power source or with the battery, but it could also be a problem with the motherboard. An authorized service center will be able to diagnose the problem and provide an accurate solution.

Hold on! Do you mean the blue power LED indicator doesn't light up?

When I press the Power button, the blue LED that usually turns on doesn’t light up and nothing appears on-screen. The charging LED still works.

OK. It's likely either the keyboard connector or the bottom cover screws might be loose. Firsst try snugging up the screws on the bottom cover. Don't over-tighten. Just make sure they are firmly seated.

Whoever you take it to, there might be a safety interlock switch near the RAM module. Unless the bottom cover is tight and properly aligned, no power can reach the mainboard. However, it's more likely the keyboard connector needs to be re-seated on the mainboard.
