Leaking laptop Acer nitro 5 laptop to upgrade the ram only to find a thick greasy gooey substance

Hi I hope someone can advise recently I took the back off my Acer nitro 5 laptop to upgrade the ram only to find a thick greasy gooey substance all over the 2 fans and the metal great pipe the stuff was everywhere and quite thick in places I cleaned it all off meticulously with tissue not thinking to take a photo first. As you can imagine I was quite panicked as my laptop is just over a year old. Strangely enough this liquid/oil or whatever it is has not affected the performance at all but I am still very worried what it might be since I've always looked after the machine. Hope someone can advise .

It should be most likely bearing grease.

grease is normal, it has a purpose .

grease is important to lubricate the rotor that drives the fans to spin faster and longer thereby cooling your laptop faster.

observe from time to time, the temperature of your laptop if there are significant changes.

I can understand what your saying about the cooling aspect but that grease was everywhere the back of the case was caked in it it was literally coming through the vents.
