A515-45-R9CP default Acer Power options

Yeah, I've messed up with the power options for the default Acer profile and now I regret it and I would like to reset them to default.

Unfortunately, that option is not available for some unknown reason (maybe you're not supposed to change them in the 1st place).

Please help restore to default.

Search windows start menu 'cmd'. Right click command prompt near top of menu. Click run as administrator. At the command prompt enter 'powercfg –restoredefaultschemes'

How long ago was this done? Also, in the left pane of the image you just posted, click on 'create a power plan'. What plans do you see?

I've purchased this laptop on 29.12.2022 and changed the setting on the acer profile only on the menu that I showed in my 1st picture.

    this is what I see

    >>>2-3 days before posting.>>>

Open Control Panel. Search 'restore point'. Click 'create a restore point' in left pane. If System Protection is turned on, click the System Restore button. Click next. Do you see an automatic restore point with a date stamp around Jan 10th?

I have restore point disabled, I disabled it after windows install. I just need the settings for the profile. Which one of the drivers set's that up?

Update, the restore got stuck at updating registry for 20 minutes, I had to hard reboot the laptop and the restore failed (it said it didn't modify any files)

Update: after performing an advanced system restore the Acer profile setting are still the same.

Hold on! I'm gonna guess one of the installations within a few days of Jan 10th corrupted the Acer plan.

    1. Can you change the Acer plan on battery to never turn off HDD? It's virtually useless set to zero.
    2. Go back to the Control Panel restore point app. You have more restore points that are hidden. Checkmark as shown below and post result.

    1. I’m more curious about the other settings as I’m trying to aim for better battery life and more performance while wired.
    2. I’ve checked and I must’ve deleted the restore points when I was setting up the laptop. (Force of habit, hehe, as I’ve never found any usage for it before)

Also, I think something went wrong… I remember seeing some Amd software on startup after updating windows 11 to the latest version, but, after reinstalling the AMD drivers from acer.com it disappeared and I can’t seem to find it animore. Maybe the oem drivers don’t have that? I’m clueless…

Was Win11 the original factory installed version when you first acquired the machine?

Update: So, I've made a clean reinstall / reset and properly installed the drivers and got the profile back.

I do experience a bug (it was happening before) and I have a few more questions about upgrades if you don't mind:

    1. I see some gray horizontals lines on white surfaces when there's a grey color on the screen (like this site). Is this a known issue? They're barely noticeable, but, they're there.
    2. Regarding upgrades. On the site is says it has 2 ram slots (1 used) and can sustain a HDD upgrade (I got the hdd caddy in the box).
    • -The laptop is under 2 years warranty and was purchased from altex (romania). Who do I have to address for an upgrade since opening it will probably void the warranty?
    • -Can I use a physical 2.5 inch hdd? (it's old technology but best for data recovery and backups).
    • -Can you suggest some compatible RAM modules? Acer ones maybe?

Thank you so much for helping me this far. <3

    1. Post a phone photo of the gray lines if possible so we can see them too.
    2. There is one soldered non-replaceable RAM slot and one replaceable RAM slot. This model's mainboard may come with either 0GB, 4GB or 8GB soldered RAM. The replaceable RAM slot can accept up to 16GB RAM to give a total RAM of 16GB, 20GB or 24GB depending on the soldered RAM on the mainboard. Your mainboard likely has 4GB soldered RAM so total possible would be 20GB.
    3. Opening should not void warranty unless a tamper seal that is taped over a screwhead or case seam is broken or if a part is physically broken during disassembly.
    4. You should be able to add a 2.5" SATA3 HDD or SSD inside the case up to 2TB with no issues. I recommend the Western Digital Blue series 2.5" HDD or SSD for this machine.
    5. Due to regional model differences and production changes, go to this link and run their scanner on your machine for specifications recommended RAM module upgrades. I suggest using Crucial RAM sodimms if possible since most are top of the line modules made by Micron and very competitive with other brand.

I don't know if you can see it. Look at the center of the image.

Yes, I can see three grayscale background regions depicted on the website. Gray--- Medium Gray---Light Gray. This is how the website is designed. Why do you think it's a problem with your screen? I see the same thing on my screen.

That picture was taken on the right click menu on my desktop.

On the “Light gray area” you can see some horizontal gray lines. They appear everywhere, when there are these 2 colors white and gray on the same screen. In menus, windows setting, this site and so. I think is some setting from the monitor…

You can't tell much about the monitor's screen by looking at a webpage. Instead, google image search 'gray.jpg' . Download and open a solid gray jpg image in full screen mode. And post a phone photo.
