I'm planning to buy this laptop and would like to connect it to a 144hz-165hz external monitor for a dual monitor setup. Does the HDMI port connect directly to the GPU?

Model No: AN515-55-50VC

Specs: 15.6in FHD IPS 144Hz, Core i5-10300H | 8GB DDR4 | 256GB SSD | GeForce RTX 3060 6GB | Win10

    @rysenc yes, the HDMI on the model is connected directly to the Nvidia GPU.

    Hello!!

    @rysenc,

    Unlike your laptop screen, external monitors connect directly to the GPU. Laptops connect through the iGPU to save power—only using the dedicated GPU for high-demand applications. Once you connect a TV or monitor to your laptop, the GPU is suddenly being used 100% of the time.

    By following the below steps, you can also configure a specific application to use the NVIDIA GPU:-

    1. Right Click on your desktop, and choose NVIDIA Control Panel.
    2. Click Manage 3D Settings.
    3. Click the Program Settings tab.
    4. Choose your desired program from the list.
    5. Choose the processor you want to use from the dropdown menu in step number 2.

    Hope this helps you!!

    Regards,
