I bought a laptop 2 weeks ago, after 10 days of use I noticed that it started to freeze tightly, decided that the problem was with the driver, reinstalled Windows 11, after a couple of days the same problem again. I decided to change windows to 10, after 2 days it started to freeze even more. The service center said that the problem with the drivers. Installed licensed Windows 11 and installed all factory drivers. The problem has worsened, now it freezes when you turn on the computer or in any game. Didn't find an answer on the internet. The laptop is brand new. I noticed that in games with a processor load of 30-40 percent 90 degrees. This not normal. but freezes occur when the processor is cold. How can I fix this? Can I return it to the store after 16 days of use?

Choose Acer gaming laptops with Intel processors preferrably 12th gen or 13th gen to avoid future problems and headaches. 😉

If my answers/solutions help you, please consider hitting "Like" and "Yes".

Depends on the store's return merchandise authorization (RMA) policy. Some stores have RMA policy periods as long as 3 mos. While others only a few weeks. Don't waste any more time on this and check with the store as soon as possible if it can be returned for a refund or exchange after 16 days. Otherwise you'll have to arrange for warranty service which will take longer. .

I bought my laptop in another country. To give it for service repair, it must be sent to another country, I have problems with this now. We need to find the problem of this error. I saw this error with Acer users in 2020-21. They closed the topic and did not answer how they solved this problem.

Sorry. You can try to do an ALT+F10 cold boot factory reset to resolve the problem. Follow the video below. If it doesn't resolve the problem, then it's a likely hardware issue.

The Nitro 5s AN515-46s model AMD Ryzen 7 6800H is too weak for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti GPU on the default resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels screen resolution for General Tasks. This configuration has 30.0% of processor bottleneck. Try to repaste the CPU and GPU with a high grade paste as Acer and other manufacturers sometimes don't paste these critical components properly, use the Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme and make sure that all thermal pads are making contact with the chips that they are supposed to thermally dissipate heat from, or even change all the existing thermal pads to a better quality Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad Extreme thermal pad that is silicone based and will dissipate heat even better, try that first.

As your AN515-46 when its either working normally and especially playing games, your GPU chip won't perform on maximum possible performances (won't be utilized to the maximum), because your processor won't process and deliver data fast enough. This theoretically means that utilization of your processor will be on maximum, and the potential of the graphic chip will not be completely used.

While running general tasks, processor AMD Ryzen 7 6800H will be utilized 100.0% and graphic card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti will be utilized 70.0% and a CPU bottleneck will happen, which are the worse than GPU chip bottleneck, because utilization of your processor will be on maximum, and it will throttle other programs that are run in the background. Also, you won't experience maximum performances that your GPU chip can offer.

You can resolve this by overclocking your processor so that it keeps up with the CPU and increasing its total RAM from this laptop mislay 8GB RAM only to at least 32GB.

Or and another easier solution is to either use an high end external monitor that can utilize the increase of the resolution of the GPU, that will have a high impact on your graphic card and it's utilization will increase. Also, when you are experiencing GPU chip bottleneck, lowering your resolution will allow your graphic card to process more data and achieve higher frames per second. More frames per second will put higher impact on your processor because it needs to prepare more data for your GPU chip. You can reduce this bottleneck by changing your screen resolution to one of these resolutions. The table below is what settings you can set your display at, and the Result is in CPU bottleneck %, the lower is better. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

I have already reinstalled windows 11 and 10 many times and reset to factory settings. the problem was not solved.

in this case, the breakdown is not related to bad thermal paste or thermal pads, the laptop heats up normally for a ryzen processor, with a heavy load in games of 90-93 degrees.

I use one stick of 16GB DDR5 RAM. This should be enough to get the job done. And at the same time I use an additional monitor, which should load the video card, but the errors do not disappear and my laptop still freezes. Is it possible to solve this problem through additional overclocking applications?

during the game, the load is small on the processor and video card. does that mean the problem is elsewhere?

Your temps above are normal at idle and even in that game, there is no problem with temps of 50c cpu and 16c or 75c or even getting into 90s to 93c momentarily in really hard core and prolonged gaming , as the laptop will turn off if you push the temps to their limit of around 99c, A gaming a laptop will never ever be as good as a gaming desktop, so never compare the two, laptops are in an enclosed space and they only have so much cooling that they can extract, some of the hard core games generate allot of heat that all laptops just can't extract and the only thing that you can add to assist cooling is a tablet cooler or a suction fan to extract heat more quickly from the laptop vents, as that helps, sort of allot and will reduce temps by max 10-15c.

With RAM and gaming/editing where you need speedy RAM processing and efficient operations, a 1x module of memory is very bad and inefficient, you need to run memory in Dual Channels as its allot more efficient and quicker, Buy another 1x 16GB DDR4 memory module of the exact RAM specs as your existing 16GB RAM module. as your laptop will operate much better and cooler,

You need to do a Clean Install of Win-11 and delete and format the boot drive, make sure that you run a quick PCIe 3x4 M.2 drive for your gaming, like a Samsung 970 EVO Plus or a WD SN750 Black types M.2 as that makes a big difference to ease allot of the work on components and heat too. Also, make sure that all windows updates and NVIDIA gpu driver are up to date and when you install the NVIDIA driver you use the Clean Install option that the new driver has, to completely delete all NVIDIA previous drivers off your OS, as all this will make your OS and laptop work allot more efficiently and speedily.

With gaming, use the GeForce Experience software and run the games that you play thorough the GeForce Experience NVIDIA ultimate settings (if they are included) as that will also reduce heat and make the games run ta thie most efficient settings.

Thank you very much for your support and for answering questions. since the first days of work, I have been using a stand with a fan to work with a laptop. Also, all the times I installed Windows, I performed a clean installation and a new driver update. I use geforce experience for games. i had the same problem in cyberpunk game but when i lowered the settings from high to medium the problem disappeared. I bought a laptop not only for games but also for work, with such errors it will be difficult to use the laptop in the future. most likely I will try to send the laptop back to the store or service center, but at the moment this is a problem for me because I live in Ukraine where there is a war.

Precisely how did you perform the factory reset? There is only one Windows version on the hidden factory reset partition. Not two. You either have a hidden factory installed Win10 reset partition. Or a hidden factory installed Win11 reset partition. Not both.
