Good evening,

I have not been able to patch my Windows 10 laptop (Aspire V 15) since the July. Based on the KB article I pasted below, it appears I need to contact Acer. Does anyone have a solution to the problem I am experiencing?

KB5012170: Security update for Secure Boot DBX - Microsoft Support

Thanks!

What is the exact v15 model number, as you need to make sure that your bios is updated to your laptops last bios version for your laptop, also take care of the known issues for this update before narrwing it down to Acer bios update, and make sure that you have the last bios version installed. Try the below first and then reinstall this update.

    1. If BitLocker Group Policy Configure TPM platform validation profile for native UEFI firmware configurations is enabled and PCR7 is selected by policy, it may result in the update failing to install.
    2. To view the PCR7 binding status, run the Microsoft System Information (Msinfo32.exe) tool with administrative permissions.

I believe the exact model number of my laptop is Acer Aspire V3-575TG-700T. This is my personal laptop.

Update the bios to the last version 1.06 that updates the 1. Update Intel CPU Microcode. 2. Update ME firmware version. as that has allot to do with this window update with the "Configure TPM platform validation profile for native UEFI firmware configurations" that is probably stopping your Win-10 updating. Be careful when you do a bios update that your laptop has no chances of crashing mid-way through a bios update and flash the bios the proper way with the laptop not running any antivirus, malware or software in the background, your laptop is plugged into a reliable power source. Try that and see if that helps if not, then run the windows update troubleshooter.
