Swift3 model N20C13 How do you disable the flight mode button (F2)? How do you disable this button

I occasionally accidentally hit the flight mode button and find it rather annoying. How do you disable this button or repurpose it so that it won't disconnect me from everything whenever I accidentally tap it?

@Geleisen you can try to change the function key behavior in the BIOS, main tab. This way, single pressing F2 won't trigger airplane mode again

Sorry. This shows how to turn off aeroplane mode, but I know how to do that. I am asking how to disable the button on the keyboard which puts the computer into aeroplane mode. I find the button very annoying.

It is different for different models, and some models don't have the feature. In this thread the original poster never told us what machine they had, so it was just chance that theirs had the feature so could make the solution. Best would be for you to start a new thread with your question and include your model number. Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like xxxxx-xxx-xxxx. We can look for you at the BIOS specs and potentially point you at the solution that way.

@billsey, thanks for your response. Given that the subject is discussed here, I would prefer not to start another thread on the same subject. My computer is a Swift3 model N20C13 (Intel core i5, 500 gig ssd, running win11 family edition).

Hoping for a solution on this annoying issue.

The N20C13 doesn't actually tell us what laptop it is, since they seem to reuse those numbers between model lines, and don't provide a cross reference. Having said that Google suggests it might be one of the SF316-51 SKUs, which have 11th gen Intel chipsets and shipped in the spring of 2021. If you could verify that is the correct model number (it would actually be SF316-51-xxxx, with the xxxx defining the actual SKU) we can likely look up whether the setting is available in the BIOS. It's usually on the Advanced page, but might be hidden until you do a CTRL-S to display the more advanced options.
