Acer Liquid E2 Duo 3G problem

Hello everyone!
I've bought my Liquid e2 Duo two months ago, and I'm very pleased with it. But I have a problem with the 3G service.

The phone I bought it in France, and it brings the EURO BAND for GMS and UTMS (900/2100 mhz) It worked perfectly while I was there.

But now I'm back in Argentina, LatinAmerica, and here the frequencies change to 850/1900 mhz, showing no problem for the GMS service as it is quad band, but the UTMS service, needed for the 3G, HDPA, etc service doesn't work. I can only browse in EDGE network.

Does anyone know how can I change the band? It is not something automatically, the phone came with those (900/2100), but I've heard I should be ale to change it somehow..

Thanks everyone for your answers..

    Hello,

You can select USA Band this way (if available) :

    Open dialer

    Type *#*#4636*#*#

    Advanced phone settings will open

    Choose "Phone information"

Clic on the menu button then "Select radio band"

The bad news is that i do not have USA Band on my E2. (french one)

ohhh damm.. I don't have the USA band neither.. only EUR.. and AUTOMATIC, but as the EUR is the only one there is, it doesn't change anything..

Thanks anyways for your answer.. If someone else knows how to put the frequencies, I'd be really thankful..

I've had a look at this because I am having difficulty using (but not connecting to) the 'three' 3g network in the uk, I bought my duo from amazon france. I've also tried the code above but I get a incorrect code message, any ideas would be appreciated?

Ignore this, I seem to have jumped the gun, reckon 'three' must have done something overnight as its working now.

Nevertheless still perplexed why I don't seem to be able to enter the 'secret' code above?

Has anyone got an update about this??

I tried something new, still without results:

with the engineering code *#*#3646633#*#* I was able to access an option called BandMode, select SIM 1 wich is the one on 3G, and then it shows the GSM Mode with 4 options, all ticked, and the UMTS Mode, with several options, most of them unavailable, except for "WCDMA-IMT-2000" and "WCDMA-GSM-900"...

I supose thats why it only gets the the 2100/900 band, but i NEED to activate the other with 1900/850 RF.. can them be available with a formating? flashing??

    Thanks

If the hardware radio of E2 doesn't support the 1900/850mhz, even flashing other rons can't solve your problem.

It's quite simple (although it took me 2 months as well before I figured it out...

The E2 Liquid *only* supports 2100 mHz for 3G as you can see here1.

So you'll have to choose a provider that supports that.

You can check that if you go in your phone to Settings-More...(under Wireless&Networks)-Mobile Networks-Network operators-Select Manually.

If there's any 3G networks supported, they should show up there...

In Colombia that's only Comcel, I believe
