In Nitro 5 AN517-54 i7-11400H installed Wi-Fi module Intel Killer 6 1650i (201ngw). Mine doesn't work, so I need to replace it. ax201ngw is the same thing, but without soft that I've never used and 3 times cheaper. Thanks for help.
I have Acer Nitro 5 517-54 with Intel 7 11th generation and Wi-Fi module Intel Killer 6 1650i (201NGW). Killer 6 1650i died, or so I think. With this module installed notebook gives a black screen before BIOS and module also heats a bit. Without it, everything works as usual, so I figured that my problem is the faulty Wi-Fi module. Please, correct me if I'm wrong. Already tried disconnecting battery, BIOS battery, pressing power button for 30s. Nothing of that helped.
So I need to replace it with something. Can I replace it with module Intel AX201NGW CNVoI2 or only Intel Killer 6 1650i (201NGW) is compatible with this notebook? I want to use AX201NGW because I've never used soft that goes with Killer 1650i and AX201NGW is 3 times cheaper in my country, but excluding soft part they have similar characteristics. Need advice from somebody who really knows what they're talking about, because there might be some issues with BIOS and what's in theory perfectly fits might just not work when it'll come to practice. Thanks for any help.

The 1650 is the GPU, not the wifi. Did the wifi failure happen suddenly for no apparent reason?
Killer Wifi 6 AX1650i is the wifi card apparently. @NewFan You can replace it with AX201, AX200, or AX210. Personally, I think AX200 or AX210 works better because I have an issue with AX201 randomly disconnecting Wifi. If you don't mind the software, it will work the same as the Killer Wifi card.
Intel Killer 1650i is a Wi-Fi module.

Actually the photo above isn't mine. Mine is without Rivet Networks.
I've read that M2 connectors that support CNVI might not support non CNVI modules, @AnhEZ28. I've tried to buy AX210NGW, but there was a warning, "Not compatible with M.2:CNVI", and I decided not to buy it. Now I'm completely confused :). AX200NGW from aliexpress say that they're also Not for (M2:CNVi).
@NewFan then you can go with AX201 instead. Might be my card faulty. I will get back to you once I have a chance to test the AX200 card on the laptop with AX201 from the factory.
Sorry, your model also has options for nvidia 1650 GPU which threw me off. Did the wifi failure and black screen happen suddenly for no apparent reason?
Actually there was no reason. No system or BIOS updates. Suddenly Wi-Fi just disappeared. I went to device manager and saw there 43 error and after I tried to turn it off/on there I got 10 error. Then I rebooted the system and it won't boot. Just a black screen. Fans work, keyboard works. No BIOS. Wi-Fi module heats considerably.
Motherboard is TGL Kamiq_TLS Intel HM570. BIOS is new.
Maybe you know what Wi-Fi modules are compatible with my M2, because some people say I can put there 200/210 and other say that if it supports CNVIo it won't work with non-CNVIo modules. After all I've read about AX201NGW I just don't want to install it. Lots of people have problems with this module. I'd rather go with 210 if it's possible.

If that's your actual card, check the two pins encircled below to see if there's a solder ball or metal shard spanning the gap between them.
@JackE, sorry, my bad. I didn't realize what you wanted to do. Sent you a message.
Is it possible to find out whether M2 supports PCIe and CNVI or just CNVI? Because if it supports PCIe, it might be possible to install AX210. The price is the same, but AX210 newer and it might be more stable than AX201.

Is it the power pins?

Yes, the wifi socket should be compatible with 6GHz capable cards --- if the socket itself doesn't have a problem or died. You might want to also check the socket's wire pins to make sure two wires aren't being shorted when you insert e old card. If the socket's faulty, you can use the extra NVME socket.
That's interesting. CNVIo2 compatible modules that support 6E are AX211 and AX411, but I'm not sure that Intel HM570 supports them. I've read that AX211 is for Intel HM670 chipset.
AX210 supports 6E, but it's not CNVIo2. It needs M2 that supports PCIe. M2 can support CNVIo2 only or both.
Yeah. It's possible to install it in the second NVME, but Bluetooth won't work.
If it was mine, I wouldn't fuss too much more over this. That socket should be compatible with both. They're cheap enough to try. So I'd buy from a vendor with a good returns policy just in case they don't work.
I've seen a man who is selling 4 different modules. None of them worked for him. That's why I'm trying to make some research before I buy something 😂
