I bought it and the egpu didn't work when I was using it. The promotion was usb4 40gb. The staff asked me to change the egpu, which bothered me very much.

Please check whether the external gpu is compatible with your laptop. Please check the specifications of the external gpu. If it is not matching then try to get a egpu which is compatible for your computer.

Kindly check the details from the user manual by going through the link given below

Which eGPU do you have? What GPU is installed in it?

If the port support TBT then that should work. Let me try and escalate to Acer to get a better response for what the port supports. In the SG they say it does TBT4 in one section and in the next section it says TBT isn't supported. On the specs pages that I'm seeing on Acer's site they seem to say:

    USB Type-C Detail

    USB Type-C Port supporting: USB 3.2 Gen 2 (up to 10 Gbps), DisplayPort over USB-C, USB charging 5/9/15/20 V; 3 A, DC-in port 19 V; 65 W

    Which implies TBT isn't supported.

I got the final test, did not support egpu, have returned. Unfortunately, in addition to this, I like it very much. The Chinese official website introduces the full function of USB4 40GB. It is possible that the bios does not support egpu.

USB4 and TBT3 or TBT4 are different, though both can be supported on the same physical port they aren't required to. I've seen several people with the new AMD designs that state USB4 that are finding issues with full TBT support.

Yes. Normally, usb4 is compatible with tb3 and tb4, but it depends on whether the manufacturer is willing to join the vid device. Therefore, Acer does not add corresponding support.
