Hi folks, has anyone exprienced the issue that there's one or two clear beep sound on booting the device when connecting to a PD charger? I exprienced the issue recently after I upgraded the bios to the latest v1.07 but not sure if that's the reason why since I can't managed to downgrade it to the old one.

It's not like everytime it happens but mostly after shutting the laptop down maybe for a day then the second day on first booting it occurs.

You should get a beep when POST finishes without errors, and then Windows sometimes beeps when the charger is connected or disconnected. Maybe the combination is what you are hearing?

Well, it's something that I never encountered before so that's a bit odd but I think I figured it out that it has something to do with the lastest version of the quick access app. I downgraded it yesterday and didn't seem to have the same issue today.

Good to know, I bet that the app was making the beeps for charge/discharge switches.

Yeah, it lasts for like a day but now it's back again😅 shame I can't put a video there to show the sound but I also tried downgrade the bios back to v1.04 but same does't seem to sovle the issue. What I'm pretty sure is that is only occurs when it's booting with the charger on and if I boot it without the charger it seeems alright. Gosh, this has been so annoying for the past month. Do you know anything to do with it if it's a windows beeping thing Billsey?

  • What is the swift model? Example SF315-55-5890. There are some computers that allow you to disable these beeps in the bios.

Hi, the model is SFX14-41G with bios v1.04. I've checked bios out but it seems there's no options available to disable the sound and plus I didn't have the issue when I used the laptop the first several month and the same way as now bt without this issue 😣

There is a slim chance you can disable that beep after you enter a CTRL-S on the BIOS main tab. It sounds like the normal sound when the system switches from battery to AC and Windows does that extra times when the charger is connected and the battery is full. That allows the battery to discharge slightly before reconnecting the charging circuit so it doesn't get over charged. I here it on my Spin as well, but only if the battery is really full.

I don't even know why this occurs since I've never made any changes to the BIOS before and it only happened like one month ago😂 but yeah like you said it's a slim chance and didn't see that CTRL-S works on BIOS. btw cause I set a limitation of 80% for charging in acer care center to protect the battery, do you think that this might affect too?

Sure, each time you reach the 80% mark it stops charging for a while, and that might give the beep, then when it starts again it might beep once more.
