Code 43 on NVIDIA display adapter in PH315-53

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 with Max-Q Design

Hello. Please help me with my issue. Whenever I reboot or turn on the device, the ff. issues will occur:

External Displays are not detected (Tried reconnecting it)
NVIDIA GeForce Experience did not open on startup
In the Device Manager, it shows in the NVIDIA display adapter that "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) (See the attached image)

Noticed that this issue occur after an update of NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready Driver Version 526.98.

To resolve this issue, I always have to do the ff. process. Sometimes, it will work. Sometimes, it will make you repeat the process over and over again until you're tired to do so:

Uncheck the "Turn on fast startup" in the "Change what the power buttons do"
Shut down
Press and hold the power button for at least 10 seconds
Unplug the charging cable
Release the power button
Wait for the battery LED to turn blue
Press the power button
If the issue still persists, repeat steps 2 to 7

Now the question is, how can I prevent this from happening? Tried the ff. but the issue still persists:

Reset PC (Retained personal files)
Uninstalled both Intel UHD Graphics and NVIDIA
Uninstalled all NVIDIA related apps/drivers
Roll back to previous versions of NVIDIA

Sometimes a simple system restore will fix the issue..

Try windows x

click on power shell admin or command prompt admin

type rstrui

chose an earlier date on which your computer was working fine

click on next, finish, yes

It will restore your computer to an earlier date

if you get an message - system restore not completed - click on close

It will show you all the icons..

Try and check whether it is working now ..

If it is a software issue try the following the steps..

Try windows x

go to device manager

expand display adapter

right click on display driver - uninstall

Restart the computer

It should work fine..

If it is still not working

Uninstall the display adapter from device manager

Don’t restart the computer.

Go to support.acer.com

chose your country

type snid or chose your model

go to drivers

Install the display driver

It should work fine..

I did not do any of the following procedures for I have already performed a Clean Factory Reset like wiping all data completely. At first, it did boot normally with no issues. But after sometime, screen freezes. After reboot, the issue Code 43 still persists.

After the clean reset have you installed the driver from support acer site

Go to support.acer.com

chose your country

type snid or chose your model

go to drivers

Install the display driver

After installing the display driver from the support Acer site, it successfully detected my external display.

Now, I will try to reboot to see if the issue will persist.

What can you recommend for the issue to not persist? Should I disable all auto-update NVIDIA and Windows Update?

UPDATE:

The screen freezes and gave a BSOD that relates to nvlddmkm.sys

Please someone help me resolve this issue.

Even after reinstalling the windows if you face the same issue then it looks like a hardware issue. May i know the operating system it was shipped with. Are you using windows 10 or windows 11. If the computer was shipped with windows 10 and if you are using windows 11 it might not be compatible with your computer. Please go back to windows 10.

The computer was shipped with Windows 10 installed and updated to Windows 11 at a later date. I've been using this device since last January 2021 until now.

I just don't get why it won't work suddenly but with a simple procedure posted above, it will work at some time then will BSOD.

That's why I doubt that its a hardware issue. :(

As I surf around the web, I noticed a lot of users that they encountered the same issue after making an update on GeForce Experience.

Please completely uninstall the display driver. You can try updating the driver from nvidia website, ran the windows update or else simply go back to windows 10 as it was shipped with windows 10.

If you dont find the windows 11 display drivers on acer website using your snid or serial no, then it means that your computer is still not compatible for windows 11.

I just rollback to Windows 10 and installed all the required drivers from the Acer support site. Sadly, the issue still persists. This seems to be a hardware issue on the GPU. 😭

What for bullshite is this ? his laptop can run windows 11 easely, even if it shipped with 10 it can handle 11 (11 is a update of windows 10 anyway). My old laptop (Acer G9-793 can even run windows 11 while it is not even "official supported" and yes i did get all the updates!).
