Hi,

I am using switft 5 detach keyboard version. Suddenly my keyboard unable to type any key.

Was this due to windows update? or the setting need to reset?

What should I do as right now unable to type any key? use a external keyboard to check for setting?

Thank you

Sometimes a simple system restore will fix the issue..

    Try windows x

click on power shell admin or command prompt admin

    type rstrui

chose an earlier date on which your computer was working fine

    click on next, finish, yes

It will restore your computer to an earlier date

if you get an message - system restore not completed - click on close

It will show you all the icons..

Try and check whether it is working now ..

If it is still not working...

Try to detach and attach it again. If it is not inserted or attached properly then keyboard will not working.

    Try windows x

    go to device manager

    expand keyboard

right click on keyboard driver - uninstall

    Restart the computer

    It should work fine..

Which Swift 5 model do you have? There have been a lot of different ones over the years. It should be something like SF5xx-xxx-xxxx and the full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number. You say 'detached keyboard version', are you sure it's a Swift? There were Switch models that had a detachable keyboard, but not any Swift models that I'm aware of. With the Switch models that type of issue is usually caused by gunk in the channel the keyboard snaps into and cleaning it so you can get good contact to the pogo pins is all that's needed.

    Hi,

Thanks for your help, one question. If I am doing a restore in system back to year of 2018, will it impact or corrupt my system? Since there are so many update over the year in Windows 10.

    Thank you

We can't really give much more help without knowing what machine you have... So many features are specific to a model.
