The fan speed automatically went to maximum when i was playing rainbow six siege (same in case of all other games which were running for fine for 8/9 months) which always run at locked 120 fps and it suddenly dipped to 30-40 range . This has happened twice in a month before but always solved by a insyde firmware bios update. i'm currently on the latest version of bios. But the issue happened again and still continuing even though i restarted and uninstalled and updated my gpu drivers, fans are clean and everything in performance mode and nothing to update or tweak. I know many people are having this issue recently ,my initial suspection is that the power limiting of gpu is done by bios due to a bug or something. Someone from acer please look into this issue and help me solve this

gpu wattage (75 is my tdp) and last firmware updates : https://imgur.com/a/4MhDr83

@knotionix what happens if you try to unplug and plug the charge back in while gaming?

@AnhEZ28 same thing no change when i unplug and plug in again while charging. the issue happened after one of these bios updates by the way.

my nitrosense and power plan : tried turning of the coolboost ,tried max fan and custom ,also putting pc on high performance but still issue persists.

White playing check if your GPU/CPU temperatures are going more than 90° C or near.

@GAMING6698 @AnhEZ28 i might have solved it myself atleast temporarily , i was directly plugging my charger to a UPS and now i diconnected and put it directly to the outet this resolved the issue. i then now put it back on ups again and games are working as before. Please keep this thread open as i think the issue will come back. btw the temps when issue was existed were really low {50-60 for gpu) which is due to the system giving low wattage to gpu, and cpu was under load so it was normal load temps like 70-80.

  • As you have updated the bios, it is advisable to restore the bios, to fix possible bugs. Access the bios and then press the f9 key. Then press f10 key to save and exit. I also advise resetting the battery: Try resetting the battery: disable fast startup in power options, turn off the computer, unplug the power adapter, press the power button for thirty seconds and leave the computer off for half an hour.
