Why Is My Orion 3000 Performing so bad? FPS keeps dropping

I Bought this computer with intentions to get rid of my old junky computer, (650w psu, gtx 1060, and a 8600k.)

I now have a 3070, 11700f, and when i first purchased this product it was performing greatly, and it got stupid high fps in games, but now It is performing so bad, my old computer is probably better.

I get 40 fps on high settings in Monster Hunter Rise,

I barely manage to get 130 fps in valorant, and csgo struggles to run at over 165. I cant find anything to fix this, and I am so [content removed] that I had drained 2k into a computer that is working like a 700$ one. I really dont want to have to rebuild this computer with other official components (Id strip the cpu and gpu off the board, get a new board, psu, etc.)

Before I do this, Please. Is there anything I can do to get my frames back?

well i can't help you on the gaming side of things but ... how long have you had it? have you done all the windows updates? do you run disk cleanup? I'm trying to think of other things that could be slowing it down and I'm so new to gaming i don't even know how Ya tell your fps etc. when it comes to gaming and i don't care either or benchmark results i test my system by how my games run and stuff like that lol sorry i wasn't more helpful, I'm trying my best

ive had it for around (id assume) about 5-6 months. I noticed the fps getting worse near the second month in, but I thought nothing of it. and yeah, ive tried cleaning up several times, rediculously upset with this product.

ok i have the PO5-640-UB11 i hope that doesn't happen to mine I'm already on my 2nd one lol. I have a gfx card issue on the first one ..and if Ya call support ask for a level 2 agent, they know a lot more than the regular ones that answer the phone lol and the only other thing i can think of is our pcs come with the hp omen gaming hub...load that and run the cleaner and game booster in it and see if that helps

Just as an addition, there are allot of guides on how to improve fps in gaming and you should follow those guides, link here, but you need to have your desktop up to date with its windows software the latest RTX-3070 NVidia driver (and when you install a new gpu driver, always use the uninstall previous drivers' option) and also using the NVidia GeForce Experience game software settings for the games that you play. Do all that as the fps should not be happening in your Orion 3000 that is a gaming desktop and has very good specs for gaming and proper ram for the games that you play? And you also have your desktop up to date and you have all the windows updates and drivers up to date. This is especially for a desktop that is much more flexible to mods and improvements through hardware and software to keep it functioning at its best for gaming.

What drive size and type are you running? How much memory is installed? You might be getting throttled if either aren't enough for your environment.

everything is up to date and running properly, I am really thinking that this 500w power supply is limiting my cpu therefore bottlenecking the gpu. I am thinking of getting new parts, but as far as I am aware there is something going on in my pc that is messing it up.

Few things come to mind. I'm sure you have tried few already, but please humour me.

Have you tried running benchmarks like 3DMark Timespy. Cinebench R20 or R23, CPU-Z? Are your scores comparable with similar setups or individual components like GPU or CPU? If your results are a lot lower than those of similar systems, then we can try to pinpoint what might be wrong. I'm sure there are many on this forum with same PC that will happily run few tests so that you can have something to compare with.

How are the temps? Make sure all fans spin.

Check that there are no programs running on the background that should not be there. Malware, viruses, miners etc. Newest drivers installed and so on.

So is the 2TB drive a HDD or a SSD? SATA or NVMe if a SSD? 16GB shouldn't be swapping to disk unless you are doing something like image or video editing... But some games do tend to pull as much as they can, an any swap to disk if you have a HDD is going to be really, really slow.

I have done tests, the gpu seems to be up to speed, its 10% over average of all 3070's that were benchmarked, but the cpu is performing under by around 30%, I also never see it reach its maximum clock speed of, 4.7, when gaming it barely creeps up to 3.2 ghz. im not sure if thats good or bad, but as far as I am aware. it isnt the greatest.

so, theres a 1tb HDD, and a 1TB SATA. the Sata (From the tests I took) Is far, far faster than the HDD. yet the games that I have running on my SATA are performing quite bad.

So at least the GPU should be okay. That's good!

Maybe your PC was compared with systems that had name-brand motherboards on them? Mobo, CPU temp and RAM speed and timings have a considerable effect on CPU test results. Aftermarket boards tend to have more robust VRM cooling than most prebuilds do. They usually have better CPU cooling as well.

Your CPU has a long-term Power Limit/TDP of 65W. Since "normal" motherboards' BIOS isn't as limited as the one your Acer has, they can raise or remove power limits (PL1, PL2) and lengthen boost times and that way make the CPU boost higher and longer. This could be one reason why your CPU is reported as performing lower than expected. In other words, the BIOS or CPU temperature does not allow your CPU to run faster.

When you benchmarked your CPU, how were the temps? You can follow in PredatorSense what happens to the temp and the CPU speed. If the temp gets too high the CPU will throttle down to ensure safe operation.

Below is just an example of what happened when I replaced PO3-620's cooler. My CPU was only i5-10400f but it was overheating that led to CPU throttling under stress. After replacing the cooler the CPU maintained almost the promised 4.0Ghz without losing performance due to heat. So, it worked as it was supposed to do.

The temps were fine, they peaked at around 65-70 degrees from what I saw. Im really running out of hope.

So a SATA SSD will be a lot slower than your system supports and is somewhat surprising since most of these that shipped with SSDs shipped with NVMe x4 SSDs. What else is running in the background? What antivirus do you have running? Do you still have the version that came with it, and did that expire? If so and you don't want to run it, be sure to uninstall. An expired antivirus often gives a significant slowdown.
