Acer swift SF315-51 won’t turn on

Hello, I’ve had my acer probably a good 6 years now, it’s been through a lot. I’ve had this issue multiple times and usually after weeks or months it resolves itself but this time it’s not. I need this for work, I can’t go buy a new one so I’m hoping to get some help.

it randomly just turned off, it was plugged in charged everything was fine, keyboard light not working, power button? Nothing. lights were on both orange and blue, I followed the directions on a older post and reset the battery through the pin hole at the back, (I’ve tried this multiple times) I’ve waited a few days in between and nothing good has come of it.

now the charging light is blue, the other light is off, keyboard light still doesn’t respond, power button still doesn’t respond normally, However when I press the power button the other light turns on blue. So now two blue lights.

my sibling told me I need new parts which I can’t afford so I do appreciate if anyone can help

Does the second blue light stay on after you release the power? That would seem to indicate it's at least trying to start. Do you have an external monitor you could try connecting to the HDMI port?

Yes the second light stays on after pressing the power button! Sorry should have mentioned that.

there is a tv I tried connecting it to via HDMI, the tv monitor has no signal after plugging it in and pressing the laptops power button. The laptop doesn’t seem to actually turn on.

No sound from the laptop internally either.

OK, so the power circuit is initializing but POST isn't getting started. That usually isn't a good sing, since it is most likely going to point to a hardware failure on the motherboard, but sometimes is can be caused by a corrupted BIOS, usually caused by the battery running out in the middle of a BIOS update (really a lot rarer than people seem to think). Let's start with a full battery reset and go from there. Disconnect everything, including the charger, flip the laptop over and use something like a bent paperclip to press and hold the button under that battery reset pinhole. Hold it in for 15-30 seconds then release. Wait 15 minutes or longer (time enough for a cup of coffee) and plug just the charger back in. Wait for the full battery blue light then try to turn it on. If that works, we're golden, if not the next step will be to open it up, disconnect the battery, disconnect the CMOS battery, press and hold the power button for a full minute then let it sit overnight. Reconnect the CMOS battery, reconnect the battery, reassemble, plug the charger in and wait again for the full battery indication, then try and power it on. Let us know how those work out...

First thing didn’t work so I ended up opening it up, disconnecting the batteries and putting it back in the morning. Turns out there were a few other issues inside as well which I went ahead and fixed.
