Hello

I have Acer monitor model vq280k which decided to stop working out of nowhere.

I think the problem lay in the board driving lcd panel. Is it possible to get a replacement part?

This is what I see in the SG:

Neither of those two boards looks like what you are showing... :( The one on the left is the power supply board and the one on the right is the main board. I'm assuming you have a VG280K since I don't find a VQ model.

    You’re right it’s VG280K

You are showing mainboard with its power supply and I need board that connects to it. It stays on the lcd panel and controls the panel.

Problem looks that the monitor turns on and you can see the backlight goes on etc but the screen remains completely black. I found that the big chip on the board I showed becomes very hot seconds after I power on the monitor.

It looks like Acer only offers that as part of the screen assembly itself, not as a separate part. I'd guess that's due to those ribbon cables bonded to the board. The picture you show with the chip loose is obviously an issue... I don't know if it's available at all as a separate part, it could be a custom ASIC that isn't even offered through normal channels...

Shame. I was hoping I can fix it. I guess buying whole screen assembly won’t be profitable for me.

Likely not, they usually run about the same cost as a new monitor. You might be able to find something on the secondary market, but it's just a high enough end monitor that there aren't likely many being parted out.
