I have an ACER Aspire 7 laptop gaming computer and i play Monster Hunter on Steam. Whenever i play it i get a message that says my graphics card is out of date and that i need software version thats atleast past version 20.2.2. My laptop also gets hot when i try and play it and sometimes will just show the computer off after a while.

Now my Windows 11 system is completely updated and shows i have the latest version. Even the Rx Vega driver in my Device manager shows its updated along with Windows, but then i noticed that on the actual Radeon APP on my computer it says that the software version i have is NOT updated its like version 18 or something.

I cant just download a tool that will show me the latest driver because apparently there are no longer any available update for the RX Vega Series. But there atleast has to be a version out there i can atleast upgrade too or something. I wouldnt even know where to find it. I wouldnt even know if i could just download a brand new driver from the radeon series or wat. I also only get that message for monster hunter. But i still want to fix this problem. It's been going on for some time. Please help.

Go to this link on the AMD site Radeon™ RX Vega Series Drivers & Support > Download as this is a Win-11 Vega RX latest driver but, uninstall the last driver in Device Manager and see if there is anything in Control Panel that the RX Vega has, as that also needs to be uninstalled.

Because you are running an old Win-11 RX Vega driver, you will find that the old driver will be reinstalled by Win-11 even if you install a new driver, to stop this, you will need to go to Device Manager AMD Radeon™ RX Vega and change the driver to the new and last driver that you have installed (as I've instructed you above) otherwise windows will always change to their installed old driver. All this should make your Monster Hunter game, stop giving you the new driver notification.

With the laptop overheating and turning off, make sure that all the vents and fans are clean and the gpu/cpu paste is changed to a high-end paste and also use ThrottleStop to undervolt the gpu/cpu to reduce these components voltages and make them run cooler. As a laptop is limited to any cooling upgrades and that is all that you can do with a laptop.

Do you know how i could get around my computer not letting me manually install it and instead its trying to do a "auto detect and install" from the downloaded driver?

The Radeon RX Vega M GL is a mobile graphics chip by AMD, launched on February 1st, 2018 so there are plenty of drivers for this graphics chip. Have a look at this thread from Intel "Radeon RX Vega M GL driver update fails” as this is a post of the same problems that you are having with installation and its for the newer Radeon RX Vega M GL driver version 30.0.13037.4001. Or and if that doesn’t work then go to AMD search for your product and go to Graphics > Radeon RX Vega Series > Radeon RX Vega Series > Radeon RX Vega 64 and download these two drivers and the AMD driver version Adrenalin 22.10.1 for the Radeon RX Vega 64 and Radeon RX Vega 56 or contact AMD Customer Care Team and tell them about your problems and their solutions.
