[HELP] Turbo mode not working. Laptop ALWAYS overclocked. (Helios 300)

My laptop (Helios 300) won't boot without being overclocked. Every time I boot my computer, I have to open ThrottleStop and disable turbo to get it back to the normal frequency (2.3 GHz). Also, Turbo Mode doesn't have any effect on my laptop anymore. It doesn't matter which energy mode I'm on.

Switching to "Balanced" and "Energy saving" modes only solves half the problem. My frequency goes back to 2.3 but the Turbo Mode is still unusable.

I have no clue whatsoever about how to solve this.

Simply change your power plan to balanced mode. Then quit trying to tweak it with ThrottleStop..

GadsdenSP, I know that you want your Helios 300 to be a V12 Ferrari for gaming but overclocking and changing settings on these laptops is bad and that is why you are getting these problems. Uninstall ThrottleStop and all other overclocking settings that you have done, then do a hard reset of your laptop, take the main and bios batteries out, short their +/- pins at the plugs and also take the ram out and reconnect them all and see if that fixes your problem.

That is the problem. I uninstalled ThrottleStop and changed the power plan but it doesn't go back to the normal clock.

Thanks for the instructions, dude. I'm just a bit afraid of damaging my computer in any form. Should I take any precautions before doing it?

    >>>That is the problem. I uninstalled ThrottleStop and changed the power plan but it doesn't go back to the normal clock.>>>

Open Control Panel. Search 'button'. Click 'change what the power buttons do' in left pane. Click 'change settings that are currently unavailable' near the top of the next pane. Scroll down and UNcheck the box for fast startup. Save settings. Then shut down Windows normally. Wait a minute or two, then turn it on again.

If issue persists, please post a screenshot of the current balanced power plan screen if possible.
