Why my CPU speed just running at 0.50 GHz while gaming about 20 minutesI have Acer Swift 3 SF314-56G
I have Acer Swift 3 SF314-56G. With i5-8256U, Nvidia MX250, 8GB RAM (2x4GB Dual Channel).
The problem is, when I play a game up to 20 minutes, the performance got insanely decreased.
I detect the CPU speed running at 0.50 GHz, also it causing my GPU usage decrease.
as you can see here, 1st pict is when I just launch the game
and then the 2nd one, when I run the game around 20 minutes
You can clearly see the differences between those picts. From the FPS, CPU speed, CPU Power, GPU Usage.
Eventhough when I change the graphic settings to the lowest value at 1366x768 resolution, it won't fix.
Also I've already update all the drivers that I need, such as GPU Driver, CPU Driver etc.
Did you guys know where the problem is?
And how to fix it?
*sorry for my terrible english

Are you seeing this while running on battery or with the charger connected?

Hi @harapeco
You can try to reinstall the GPU drivers to check if that makes any difference.
NOTE: Make sure to reboot the laptop after uninstalling the driver.
If that doesn't work then you can try to reset the laptop to check if that makes any difference.
Check the above link to do a reset.
NOTE: Make sure to backup all the data before the reset.
Hope it will help you in some way.

well, the problem is not about the GPU tho, and I've already reinstall the GPU drivers for several times, still won't work.
and actually, before I post this question I just did a reset on this laptop.
nothing can fix this problem so far

So look at the details for your power plan. I'm guessing the power plan is set to too low of power when plugged in...
