Hello everyone. I spilled something on my laptop and looks like my touchpad and keyboard need to be replaced. Acer tech support says that cost for this will be $1190. LoL, this is ridiculous. I can replace it myself, but looks like my laptop is rare and I cannot find any manual how to take my laptop apart. Does someone know something how to remove the keyboard or does anyone have any instructions?

Which model do you have? PH717-71? PH717-72? PH717-73?

Your Predator PH717-7091 has many top case/keyboard's languages modules and you need to tell us what yours is e.g. is your keyboard an International US, a UK, Canadian etc etc keyboard as there are many languages but, you can look on the underside of your top case and keyboard and get the exact reference numbers as below is for a US type and touchpad part number and they are:

    1. UPPER CASE ASSY (Keyboard DARFON EG5P_P91BRL EG5P Internal 15 Standard 103KS Black US International Predator Font + Sense +Dish RGB Per Key BL, NK.I1517.0D3) is Acer part#: 6B.Q4ZN7.009.
    2. TOUCHPAD W/BKT/LIGHT MODULE/SLIPBAR is Acer part #: 56.Q4ZN7.001 and the
    3. TOUCHPAD BUTTON is Acer part#: 55.Q3NN7.007

So, you need to just undo the back cover and systematically undo the top cove until it becomes dislodged, and then undo the keyboard and touchpad button module underneath and replace them, see the attached pdf from the SG. Good luck and hope this helps you out. I've included also all the parts that are related and listed in the SG.

Unfortunately, the Acer replacement is usually sold by part no as integrated with the top case and palmrest. Quite price-y. Acer part no. 6B.Q4ZN7.009. If you instead google search keywords ph717-71 & keyboard you can usually find fairly inexpensive bare keyboards. But these require quite a bit of work to replace the old bare keyboard but can be done if you have the patience. No special tools required.

Can you recommend a website for ordering these parts?

Depends on your location. Best way is google searching the part no. or keywords ph717-71 & keyboard from your location for vendors who ship to your location. If you're willing to wait a few weeks, add the keyword aliexpress to your search. Aliexpress is a fairly reliable concessionaire like Amazon.
