Black screen aspire a315-56-356n

Hi! I have an acer aspire a315-56-356n which suddenly stopped booting normally. When I turn it on, it just shows a black screen. I know the display is turned on because I notice a slight change in brightness, and the blue led on the laptop is on, but it never displays the acer logo or boots to windows. Things I've tried:

1. forced shutdown by holding the power button, didn't work

2. connected to an external display through hdmi, didn't work. key combination to enable/disable the internal display (fn+f5/fn+f6)

3. disconnected battery and cmos battery, didn't work. left the 2 batteries disconnected for about half an hour, but it didn't work

4. I've followed the instructions on posts about the bios recovery procedure, where you download the original bios file from the support page, extract it and put it on a usb drive formatted as fat32. turn the laptop on with the usb drive connected while holding fn+esc. I can hear the fan spinning faster than normal, but nothing else happens, and it just restarts after a few seconds. one thing I've noticed is that in those posts they talk about a file with the .fd extension, but I cannot find that in the original bios file, only abobios.bin, so I tried the procedure described before with that file instead. I've also tried the same thing on different USB ports but nothing happened.

Can somebody help me?

Unfortunately my warrenty expired 20 days before. i tried to flash from usb with Fn+Esc combination, but when it start to read from usb, the usb lights are blinks and after 3 to 5 seconds it is switch off and restart automatically same black screen. i assumed the correct bios or correct name not there in usb to flash.please help me to flash it.

You're looking for a 17.3MB binary file in the fully extracted zip and exe files. The 17.3 MB file might not have the correct name and has to be re-named to FH5LIX64.fd for the BIOS chip to recognized it by the FN+ESC startup method.

Thank you for you reply, Successfully flashed bios but unfortunately after that it is coming back to same issue only. May be its having hardware issue. Let me take it to service center. Thanks a lot...

How do you know it was successful? Did you try turning the screen on with the FN+F6 toggle key combinations?

I Tried with 1.27 bios version which is latest one , but it was not not successful , after usb led blinks with in a second laptop shutdown and restart. But with 1.26 bios version it was reading from usb with led blinks continiously and fan also running at high speed, after 1.5 minutes laptop shutdown. while switch on it remains in same condition. service center says it is chipset problem need to replace the whole motherboard only but it is expensive, cost comes around 90 % of laptop price. so they says to buy new one instaed of putting money on this laptop. ( Acer Authorised service center only ). so that i finally decided to drop this laptop.

Yes, OK. That description usually means a successful BIOS flash. Unfortunately, it also means the graphics chip was likely somehow damaged. Quite possibly from overheating. Sorry. But thanks for reporting back on the diagnosis.

I would take the laptop to another repair center to get a second opinion. Maybe a reballing will solve the problem.

Good idea. kishravi2007 has nothing to lose at this point. He could try it himself. Strip the mainboard of all removable & heat sensitive components. Put mainboard on an aluminum cookie sheet. Then bake it for 10 minutes in a toaster oven pre-heated to 425-450*F to re-flow the solder connections. Might work.

Already i tried that idea but no hope. so finally i given that laptop to third party chip level service center. hope they will rectify the problem. will update soon the results..
