OK. For the A315-34, the binary file you're looking for in the extracted BIOS_1.1.EXE file is BiosEc.fd Its size is 9.5MB. This filename should be tried first on the FAT32 formatted USB thumbdrive. If it still doesn't work then we'll re-name to BIOS_GLK.ROM

First let's try it with BiosEc.fd filename as is. It should be the only file on a FAT32 thumbdrive with an activity LED.

    (1) Plug charger in. Battery must be fully charged. Plug thumbdrive in.
    (2) Press and hold FN+ESC and turn machine on.
    (3) Release FN+ESC when activity USB LED blinks repeatedly
    (4) If successful, machine will auto shutdown after about 5mins
    (5) Remove USB and try to turn machine back on.

Are you getting any USB LED activity with FN+ESC still pressed?

With the machine turned off, press and hold your palm against a bunch of random keys. Then while still pressing and holding the keys, turn the machine on. Do you even get a beep error code? Does it still go to the frozen logo?

While it's possible the keyboard cable became disconnected from the mainboard (you should check this out), my best guess from your description is that initialization for basic input services (keyboard & usb ports) has somehow been accidentally disabled in the BIOS hardware or firmware. The only initialization for output services seems to be video.  At this point, I see 3 options.

    (1) Use an inexpensive CH341A eeprom programmer to directly re-program or flash the BIOS from another computer as shown in this guide
    (2) Buy a preprogrammed chip (usually around $20 from ebay vendors). Old chip, probably WinBond, is usually a large 8pin surface mount that can be replaced with ordinary pencil tip soldering tools.
    (3) Arrange for ACER repair service to  re-program the chip. Was about $100 a year or so ago but another user recently reported much higher prices.

Sorry I can't be of more help.  We seem to have tried just about everything to get the chip back to a default state by documented methods. But with no signs of life coming from the keyboard or USB ports, it's just about impossible to do anything more without directly hardwiring the chip's pins with clips.

Sorry. Detailed discussions about making undocumented BIOS firmware mods that have potential for compromising BIOS security features are not permitted on these ACER user forums. Please understand that this forum is primarily for ACER users trying to help other ACER users just like you. We are not ACER employees, custormer service reps or repair contractors here. We are only volunteers.

It's possible that you might get more information &help from tiancore and bios mods users forums.  My recommendation to explore CH341A eeprom programmers is based on the fact that they are quite affordable at less than $20usd and there is a lot of readily available useful information on line to use them. The link that I posted earlier is quite informative and might be a way of fixing the unsuccessful BIOS mods that you attempted

I had the same issue. I replaced the power switch board or the small circuit that has the power button on it as I had a spare acer that i could use. I disconnected all the ribbon cables, cleaned them and the socket. I used an alcohol spray on the all circuits (motherboard etc) and used a brush to clean the circuits. With the battery's disconnected I held in the power button for 30 seconds to clear all residual power. I plugged everything back in again and turned on the power. To my surprise it worked!!!

Actually, once everything has been disconnected, hold the power button for 30 seconds to clear all residual power. Then start with cleaning etc.

Somehow, someone, flashed an Intel BIOS version on your laptop instead of Acer Bios version 1.11 from the Acer Support site for your laptop. You can try to reset BIOS with the CMOS described on this forum, e.g. disconnect the main battery and take out the CMOS coin battery, then shorten the +/- contacts inside the CMOS capsule with a bended paperclip for a few seconds. I recommend you bring the laptop to Acer Services in your country to reset BIOS to factory defaults.
