Just as additional information for you, make sure that you take the old, cloned boot drive out before rebooting with the new Crucial P5 Plus M.2 PCIe 4 x4 drive (which could be an additional problem as the PH315-53 compatible M.2 drives should be PCIe 3 x4) and see if the laptop recognizes the new Crucial M.2 cloned drive? As there have been and there are some compatibility issues with Crucial 2.5" MX500 SSD's and M.2 SSD drives that do not work with Acer laptops.

These are the Acer recommended and compatible M.2 drives for your PH315-53 so stick to these models or and the best PCIe 3 x4 M.2 drives (that are tested as the speediest PCIe 3 x4, which this laptop is compatible with) are the Samsung 970 EVO Plus, the WD NS750 and the ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro which I would recommend being compatible and will work 100% with your PH315-53 laptop.

Acer M.2 listed compatible M.2 drives for the PH315-53
