AT3220A LCD TV power issue

The TV suddenly went blank last night (green light remained on indicating power was on). No video, no audio. Tried turning it off (green light changed to red) and then back on - green light turns on, Acer logo warmup screen flashes for a split second and screen goes black (still no audio). Seems like a sensor or breaker of some sort is tripping and not allowing the TV to power up.

After trying the usual stuff (holding down power button, unplugging, different cables, different sources, etc.), took off the back panel and did a visual inspection. Everything looks fine though (to my untrained eye). From my generic (non-Acer specific) research online it seems the best course of action is replacing all the capacitors (even though they all appear fine). Does that sound right?

Unfortunately, there is no advice that I can provide on this particular issue.

We do not endorse or condone replacement of board level components.

Is there any advice you can provide that doesn't involve the boards? I had no luck with everything I tried up to that point.

It sounds as if you've attempted to perform all of "the usual" methods.

Have you used a different television to ensure the inputs are good?

It could be power supply related, but I could not say for certain over a forum.

I could only suggest that you contact a service center.

Yeah the inputs are working fine on another TV right now.

Yeah I think it has to be a power thing. Up to this point when I powered it on, the blue & white Acer logo would sit up there for a second or two as it warmed up and then it would flip to whatever input it was on last. Now the Acer logo flashes up there for a millisecond and it goes black. So it's halting somewhere in the "warmup" process.

Is there a certain "Acer" service center I should take it to or just any TV repair shop?

You are welcome to contact Acer through the Service Locations linked in my signature.

If the television is outside it's warranty period, there may not be anything the service center will be able to do for you.

In that case, it may be easier to contact a local repair center and see what options they have available.

Best wishes for getting it repaired.

It is definitely out of warranty (bought in 2007 I believe). Thanks for your assistance.
