How do I downgrade Predator helios 300 from windows 11 to windows 10?

I got the laptop with windows 11 preinstalled and it is causing problem in running most of the games. How do I downgrade it to windows 10. I searched in recovery option but there's option to rollback.

    @Vinay987 the Windows 11 was preinstalled so you will have to create Windows 10 USB installation. But you will have to reinstall some apps and drivers in order for some functions like Turbo, powerbutton to work.

    1. Go to Settings > Recovery > Go Back.
    2. Go to Settings > Recovery > Advanced Startup > Restart Now > follow prompts to select an option to install a new operating system.
    3. It's recommended you back up your personal data and third-party applications before uninstalling Windows 11.

    @AnhEZ28 ..... Where would you locate all of the Acer specific apps and drivers? I was just tempted to load a fresh copy of Windows 10, but I didn't want to lose the Turbo and other software specific Acer functions.

  • Don't downgrade to Win-10, install the latest 22H2 Win-11 version OS build 22621.521 and change the compatibility of the games that don't work to their compatible supported modes, as the incompatible games that don't work with Win-11 must be OLD, but you can make them compatible within Win-11.

    I just got a Acer Predator 300 Helios. I agree that staying on windows 11 is a must but upgrading from windows 11 home (which my acer came with) to pro was a must.


    However I am in a position that I must downgrade to windows 10 pro. The Sole reason is Steam VR will NOT WORK at all in any way with Windows 11 Pro on my Acer using HP Reverb G2 Version 2. I can run Windows Mixed Reality just fine (only after 6 hours of updates). I can even play Battlefield 2042 on Medium at 80 FPS. However the sole reason I bought this laptop at $765 :D is to play Alyx on Steam. I cannot run Steam VR this means I cannot run Alyx.

    I googled for hours for a Steam VR fix nothing works. I even reinstalled windows 11 twice and still NO go.

    I am at my WITS end.

    I have a Predator Helios Laptop (PH315-54) last year.

    I have the option to UPGRADE to Windows 11.

    I am sticking with Windows 10 until I don't have the option.

    Windows 11 Upgrade (and temporary trial)

    If I understand correctly, you may go to the Settings Menu.

    Then select "Advanced Settings."

    There you can choose to do a "Temporary Trial" of Windows 11.

    You have 10 Days to see how you like it.

    You may go back to "Settings" and "Advanced Settings"

    to REVERT BACK TO Windows 10 *****

    **** You ONLY HAVE 10 DAYS to REVERT BACK****

    After the 10 days - you are stuck with Windows 11.

    {That is how it was explained to me.}

    I am at that point.

    My Windows 10 is "Up to date"

    with the latest Windows Updates.

    This PC can run Windows 11. (etc., etc., etc.)

    Check the box to download and install Windows 11.

    I have not "pulled the plug" (upgraded) yet.

    I am inclined to say "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

    Your call.
