microphone on Aspire S7 does not work well

in 2013 Archives

It works, but the quality on a skype call (the reason I most need it) is not good at all. Cuts in and out and is generally not clear.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I have wondows 8

    Usually this has to do with either settings on skype or the internet connection. You could try to change the recording volume settings in your audio properties but chances are it's just skype that's cutting out. Very rarely will you see an issue that isn't software related when it comes to a mic unless it's not working at all.

    Hmm - probably not skype or internet per se. As I can switch to my ipad immediately and have no problem. But I'll try fidling with the settings on the laptop Skype software.
