Hi, my laptop came with a 512ssd which had Windows 10, I mounted a 1Tb drive and installed W11 on the 1Tb drive and dual booted Linux on the 512 drive. Randomly while using Windows 11 I will get the error 0xc000000e message which goes away after a quick restart. I would like to fix this issue permanently

Go to this link. Enter your full nitro 5 models series number. For example, AN515-44. Do you see Win11 updates posted yet?

After installing the Win11 updates, a shutdown might be helpful. Then turn it on again to see what happens. Good luck. 🙂

    1. Shut down Windows normally. Then turn it back on again and immediately tap F2 key to enter BIOS menu. Please post a phone photo of the BIOS INFORMATION & MAIN pages after pressing Ctrl+S to reveal any hidden options or information.
    2. Is Linux boot manager primary or are you using F12 key to boot Windows or Linux?

I solved this issue by turning Fast boot off. I no longer get the error

Congratulations. Thanks for reporting back. Yeah, Windows fast startup is yet another Microsoft obstacle too. 🙂

I got the error after days of nothing. I always get it when I'm gaming or doing a RAM intensive task. I ran memory diagnostics, and it brought up no error for both the sticks. I exchanged the sticks and I have not gotten the error yet. I'll be disabling startup services if I get the error again. Should I still send my BIOS information here?

Just got a different BIOS error. I don't know if that's progress or regression. Usually, it's a system store exception but now I got an unexpected store exception.

Make sure that the BIOS drive controller in the MAIN tab (after pressing Ctrl+S) is NOT in Intel VMD or Intel RST with or without optane SATA mode. Linux won't load in this Intel modes, only AHCI mode.

If in any of these Intel modes, you must first set Windows to boot into safe mode by running msconfig and checkmarking safe boot in the BOOT tab.

Then shut the machine off and reenter the BIOS menu to disable VMD or change RST to AHCI mode. Save setting and exit BIOS. Then Windows safe boot will automatically load the ACHI drivers.

Then enter msconfig again to uncheck safe boot. And restart the machine to make sure regular Windows will boot OK in AHCI mode. Then you're ready to install Linux alongside Windows in AHCI mode.
