This scan is what ram and 2.5" drives are compatible with your laptop, have a look here Acer Nitro 5 AN515-51 RAM & SSD Upgrades as your AN515-51 can have a SATA-3 6GB/s 2.5" SSD or mechanical drive and an M.2 NVMe PCIe 3 x4 SSD type drive. I would suggest that you fit an SSD M.2 boot NVMe PCIe 3 x4 drive your boot drive. The capacities depends on your budget and also the OS like and if you use MBR or GUID (GPT) formats as MBR has a capacity of 2TB and GUID (GPT) is above 2TB.

As far as budget is concerned, ram and hard drives is an essential part of any PC, as and if you use cheap quality you will lose your data and the memory will not last. its best to buy the highest quality that is compatible with your laptop e.g with ram like Crucial, Hynix, Kingston, Corsair and the Samsung ranges of memory and especially M.2 NVMe PCIe 3 x4 and their 2.5" SATA-3 drives are imo the best and what I've used and have been using for more than 5 years daily, with no problems and/or crashes or loss of data ever but, this is my choice only.

    Thanks for your respond.

Since I can't even turn on my laptop with a dead drive, and I wanna make upgrades, I for sure need SSD immediately. And I was thinking; SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB, M.2 NVMe Interface Internal Solid State Hard Drive with V-NAND Technology for Gaming, Graphic Design, MZ-V7S1T0B/AM https://a.co/d/bjUvH3P would be a good fit. What do you think?

And for RAM; Crucial RAM 16GB Kit (2x8GB) DDR4 2400 MHz CL17 Laptop Memory CT2K8G4SFS824A https://a.co/d/bl3Mz1m my question about upgrading RAM part is which way makes more sense, going for 2x8 16gb or 2x16 32gb? Would that make a huge difference?

As far as gaming/editing and upgrading your laptop to its highest performance (besides and of course you need to keep all drivers up to date and have proper settings also) you need a fast ram which the DDR4-2400MHz is not as your laptop can have the top performing Crucial Ballistix SODIMM 16GB Kit (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Gaming Memory (Black) with its specs of, DDR4 PC4-25600 • CL=16 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR4-3200 • 1.35V • 1024Meg x 64 that Crucial guarantees 100% that it will work in your laptop, which is a top performing memory for your laptop and I would fit that for gaming and editing where you need your laptop to perform at its peak.

With the M.2 PCIe 3 x4 NVMe drives and the fastest and most reliable drives, the Samsung M.2 SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus NVMe PCIe 3 x4 1TB SSD is one of the best and the top performing M.2 on the market, btw, I speak from experience as II'm using this drive in my new Nitro 5 AN515-56 and its lighting fast and never ever had any problems.

With the 2.5” drives which are a secondary drive for your laptop and a storage drive mainly and if you also want to store/play games from a secondary drive then, an SSD is essential like a type Samsung 870 QVO SATA III 2.5" SSD up to 8TB that has the advantage of a top performing 2.5" SATA-3 6GB/s SSD specs and also has a huge storage capacity of 8TB max. that costs USD $700.00 or the 1TB is USD $90.00, again this all depends on your budget and requirements? If not, you can always use a 2.5" mechanical drive if the budget is a factor? Bottom line is, SSD's are a better and quicker drive especially when Samsung have specialized their range for many years and have perfected this technology to what they are today, they are not the cheapest, but and this is only my opinion so take it as you may? They are the best. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Thank you again, for all your explanation.

Samsung 970 Evo Plus within my budget. And I wasn't thinking to get a 2.5" drive as a secondary since I don't do editing or need a lot of storage. Only a few favourite video games and will be open to try new realesed ones after my upgrades hopefully... So, Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB will be totally enough storage for me.

For the Ram you suggested, apparently there is a stock problem. They are out of stock and there is only 1 seller on Amazon asking $175 which is unrealistic.

How about; Crucial RAM 16GB Kit (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL22 Laptop Memory CT2K8G4SFRA32A https://a.co/d/hvTidEf would give me the peak performance still?
